NFL Draft Open Thread ... Sam Bradford edition

2010_nfl_draft_medium

Use this as your NFL Draft first round Open Thread. I am calling it the 'Sam Bradford edition' because this one will be for all things not regarding our New York Giants.

Stick with this one for any thoughts about the first round, both before AND after the Giants selection.

I will post an Open Thread regarding the Giants selection a couple picks prior to the Giants being on the clock. If they trade up I will get something posted as quickly as I can.

Anybody seen that Sports Science bit regarding JPP?

Mainly the point is that due to the fact that he can do those back handsprings, his legs provide him with one of the hardest hitting explosions on the line. Too bad it hasn’t produced much on the field…

Sports Science

Of course, I’m not promoting him as our choice, just trying to understand why people are so high on this kid.

by Well-Rounded Cube on Apr 22, 2010 6:54 PM EDT up reply actions

I seen that too.

its ridiculous.

Both the fact he can do 23 back flips..and the fact that a team might draft him in the first round.

He’s basically Osi Umenyiora coming out of college. Osi was a 2nd rounder for a reason…cuz he was extremely raw.

Ick, Jimmy Clausen.

No thank you.

John Olerud, Hall of Famer. Got a nice ring to it.

by squid92 on Apr 22, 2010 7:02 PM EDT reply actions

maybe it's just because I'm a Notre Dame fan

But I don’t get all the Jimmy Clausen hate. He put up great numbers in a pro-type system. I would have liked to see him win some big games, but it’s not his fault he had a lousy defense. I have no idea how well he’ll do – I probably would have said the same things about Brady Quinn a few years ago, and he hasn’t done much, and I’d say his window to be a good pro QB is closing fast. But it seems like there are a ton of fans who don’t want him for their team, and flat-out just hate him, and I don’t know why. Is it the hair?

by long time listener on Apr 22, 2010 7:07 PM EDT up reply actions

He's sort of a douche.

John Olerud, Hall of Famer. Got a nice ring to it.

Where does this reputation come from?

by long time listener on Apr 22, 2010 7:09 PM EDT up reply actions

they say he threw one of his WR's under the bus

Also the whole getting punched in the face fiasco.

by mclaren_is_the_best on Apr 22, 2010 7:11 PM EDT up reply actions

I didn't see the thing with Gruden

But having some jackass accost you at a bar and assault you makes you a douche?

by long time listener on Apr 22, 2010 7:15 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm not sure either

I love Clausen and think he is going to be a great QB

but those are the 2 big things that they say about Gruden

by mclaren_is_the_best on Apr 22, 2010 7:17 PM EDT up reply actions

I am not a Notre Dame fan.....

but there’s a reason why Todd McShay is a douche and an idiot..and Kiper at least while he’s crazy…has a good idea on players (not necessarily team needs).

Clausen is much better then Bradford…
