Mort seems to know something that no other news outlet or reporter knows: Osi Umenyiora is likely to be traded this off-season. We've discussed it at length but it was all conjecture. According to Mort, it's approaching reality.

Trading a former All-Pro pass rusher is no small matter, especially when you consider how valuable pass rushers are to the Giants' success.  Would a trade be an indication of the team's disdain for Osi Umenyiora or their belief in Mathias Kiwanuka's development? The Giants had Jason Pierre-Paul visit them. Are they seriously considering him? Was it posturing to hide their real interest in Derrick Morgan? I don't know the answers to these questions.  Regardless, if you consider Mort to be credible, which I do, then what was previously water cooler talk is now legitimate pre-draft discussion.

I think Giants can get a 2nd-round pick for Osi if things fall right. The Rams' pick at top of 2nd would be very attractive.
