Best slot receiver?

Had a bit of a debate over on BGN on who the top slot guys are. Some of them have Avant ranked near the top.

"Avant, however is Mr. 3rd down, he's a monster, he's the prototypical slot WR and I would go so far as to say he's arguably the best slot WR in the league "

There is also a question on whether Welker is still a true slot rec. What's your top 5 ? Is Avant on it?

Avant's a good WR

I dunno who other then a delusional Eagles fan would try and argue that he’s the best in the NFL….

Don't listen to anything Wild Eagle says

He’s one of the biggest homers on BGN. I like his positive outlook some of the time, but most of the time, he’s a little over the top with his support of Eagles players.

Having said that, I think Avant is a good, solid slot receiver. He’s a smart, sure-handed WR who knows how to get open and make the tough catch. I’m not sure he’s the “best slot receiver in the league” but he fits what the Eagles do pretty well and he comes through in the clutch when needed.

haha i like to say out of the slot receivers in the league

he is the best for us. welker is good but id rather have avant being a in the middle. that made way more sense in my head

Mr 3rd down

Avant was thrown at 15 times on 3rd down of which he caught ten and nine went for first down.

So he converts on average one 3rd down every two games – that does not make him a monster.

Can he really be consider a slot reciever anymore?? By far he is best in the league then, followed by a guy like Welker. Avant isn’t even close to them 2.

I believe they cant be considered slot receivers anymore. Smith is a starter who gets lined up at slot in three receiver packages, so is Welker. i can recall numerous games i have seen this!! However they can considered be the best slot receivers that aren’t.

Thats a team full of slot receivers lol, welker and smith are starters but their true niche is in the slot, if steve smith could manage some YAC he might break some records. think about it he put up over a 1200 yrds just catching the ball and immedately going dwn, could u imagine if he just took a few steps after every catch

But dont tell em i told you that !!!!!
