T.O. to Big Blue?

OK guys, First let's get past how much some of us hate this guy. And his past behavior with the Eagles and the 49ers. With Dallas, all he wanted was the ball and felt Witten got the first look. T.O. IS a great 1 receiver and with Eli having a better throwing touch the Romo, it should eliminate some of the dropped passes. T.O. on the Giants should make Smith, and the other receivers better and we need a down the field threat. Plus, we can get him cheap. (I'm sure he would love to beat up on Phily and Dallas twice a year!) He didn't make much noise at all in Buffalo and I'm shocked they cut him because they don't have a QB who can get him the ball.  T.O. on the Giants would free up Smith much more so he can play in the slot, hopefully Manningham will learn how to run a route or two and we can keep the offense on the field which should not beat the defense up as much as last year. What do you think?

The only way the Giants pick up a WR is if he’s a KR and better then Hixon (doubt it).

Smith, Nicks, HAM, Barden..Beckum and Boss. Brown hopefully out of the backfield.

Owens would be useless if the Giants actually needed him.

How useless would Owens be given that the Giants have less then zero need for a WR (they could trade a WR and conceivably be OK)

Also a problem in Eli’s career..with any WR (Plax, Toom) has been his WR dropping passes.

Owens drops more passes then anyone. That’s a recipe for disaster.

…and notice, I didn’t mention how much of a pain in the ass this guy is.

no sir

sorry…read the Anquan Boldin to NY threads and you’ll basically get the answers that you’re gonna get on this one…

I say NO

in that our WR situation is actually pretty solid at the moment (hard to say that about any other part of the roster honestly).

Adding TO for $1 a year

would probably make this team WORSE. He’s over the hill. We have a solid WR corps that needs to stay on the field. I wouldn’t take TO at any price.

You play to win the game!

seriously

you can’t be serious………….

We are good at WR. We have a great young emerging core there. Not a postion of need for us.

No, no, no, no, NO

I don’t want that piece of shit within a 300 mile radius of Giants Stadium

Even if WR was a need...

this guy makes no sense. I actually agree with Free, if you can’t help upgrade our return units I don’t see a roster spot going to a WR.

You 17% should be ashamed of yourselves!

C’mon man…

it's up to 18% now

I’m just going to assume those are Cowboys and Eagles fans who want to see us suffer as much as they did

Yeah

I think that’s a safe assumption

down the field threat

Nicks and Manningham can be that.

And your #1 receiver doesn’t need to be a fast WR anyway.

by mclaren_is_the_best on Mar 8, 2010 4:20 PM EST reply actions

This is without a doubt

the worst idea that i have heard. I was open to bringing in Peppers, but T.O.? If Manningham cleans up his route running we have 3 very good receivers, and who knows about Barden.

T.O. ????

You can’t be serious?? QB and WR were our strongest positions last season. Why would anyone want to mess up a good thing by adding a 36 year old WR with an ego bigger than NY? I know that we are not used to this, but the positions or QB and WR are set for a good run.

Ramses Barden??

by gobs56 on Mar 9, 2010 9:19 AM EST up reply actions

???????????

How can you call a rookie WR who never played a full game a bust??
I don’t recall Jerry Reese, or anyone from Giants management for that matter ever saying that they expected Ramses Barden to contribute right away let alone be a “Red zone savior”.

Thats laughable man let’s be real. The only people that know his true potential are his coaches.

The definition of a bust at WR = Darrius Heyward-Bey. He started in 11 games only had 9 receptions for 124 yards and 1 TD.
Ramses Barden started zero games, let him live.

could be still.

could be the next Joe Jurevicious too. Could be Micah Rucker

Could be better then Plax.

Yeah, great idea!

While we’re at it lets bring in Plax when he gets out of prison and lets try playing Osi every play on both D and O.

I'd rather

Bring in Plax when he gets out of jail then sign TO.

by gobs56 on Mar 9, 2010 9:19 AM EST up reply actions

I’d rather help the Knicks buy out Eddy Curry and sign him. He looks like Plax at least.

lol

He could play DT run stopper maybe.

by gobs56 on Mar 9, 2010 10:14 AM EST up reply actions

I only want Owens if someone is going to hit him in the head with a sack of manure after every game

Then he can sit at the podium and cry about it.

I’d rather lose than have him and win.

by giantblue63 on Mar 11, 2010 3:51 PM EST reply actions

Plus him behaving in Buffalo

All that means is that he didnt go running to the press to complain, Who knows what happened behind closed doors! There is a reason that buffalo released him. I dont necessarily hate him tho, he did bring mucho drama to the Cowboys and Eagles and That makes me smile :)
