Shawn Andrews
The Eagles have officially released Shawn Andrews. Does anyone think the Giants should take a shot at him if they could sign him cheap? He had back surgery in December and battled depression in 2008, but prior to that he was one of the most dominant guards in the NFL. If he is still available after he gets healthy I would not be opposed to the Giants taking a chance on him. Again, only if he could be had CHEAP.

Depression
Is a mental illness not of any logic. This is like making fun of some one for hav Crohn’s disease.
Im aware. im being hard on him because he played for the eagles. is that OK with you Dr K?

depression
is perfectly ok and deserves compassion … unless it’s suffered by a Cowboy or Eagle ;)

He used to be the best G in the game.
And with that said, I’m glad the Eagles didn’t even wait until camp to cut him. That should tell you something about this guy.
We just can't
I mean, like Dawk says..if this dude is motivated..he’s one of the best in the game.
But even for a minimum contract, he’s a risk cuz he’s a waste of a roster spot, he’s not gonna be motivated

Maybe not eating at the Andy Reid buffet will help him? 375lbs can’t be good for a man’s back

Shawn Andrews remind you of anyone?
>300 lbs + multiple back surgeries + depression + little interest in football = Barrett Robbins?

But...
How much playing time did his brother get, thought he was starting?
by Great Gatsby on Mar 17, 2010 4:58 PM EDT up reply actions
Nope.
He was an enormous disappointment, too. His story is a little different. He tore an ACL with Cincy at the end of the 2008 season, and when the Eagles announced his signing last February, he was up at the podium for his press conference with crutches. He couldn’t get on the field because he was hampered by injuries, and there were also reports that he didn’t know the plays (seriously).
Obviously, he was expected to be the starting RG last year, but couldn’t beat out Nick Cole or Max Jean-Gilles. Not exactly what you hope for when you sign a guy for 6 years, $39 million. He took a pay cut a couple weeks ago to stay with the Eagles.
This upcoming year, I don’t think anyone is counting on him to contribute. If he gets it together and wins the job, great. But at this point, he’s a backup.
Nick Cole needs to play more
I get a kick out of watching a 6"0 350lbs dude play football

Thanks Dawk...
It was the guy with the French name I forgot about it. I was on ESPN, the Eagles faithful were butchering the Andrews’ boys. One of them called them the Andrew Sisters, that was funny. Good pickup in Mike Bell, underated running back.
The Saints will let him walk away.

If the Andrewses had panned out
the Eagles would have crushed the division last year.
Oh well. Sort of like Canty and Bernard, I guess.

From starting 5 to the backups
I’d say they’re the fattest

And that's why
I don’t want Brian Price. He’s supposedly maxed out in size and I saw him get manhandled by big college O-linemen. I don’t see him faring well against the Eagles O-line.
cowfags o line isnt too small either
im pretty sure theyre considered one of the biggest overall in the nfl too. i agree with you 100% on brian price.

I ALSO
saw him manhandle or consistantly beat big college O linemen as well, while being double teamed………not to mention he played on a bad team against alot of good teams and still dominated.
But dont tell em i told you that !!!!!
