Pierce?
I am all siked up for the draft and like many, was hoping for Mclain (i know it's unlikely but after combine, who knows) . I almost forgot that Pierce is still on the roster and is a pretty good player (when he isn't force to cover) and a tremendous team leader. Has anyone heard about this rehab? Is he definately gone?
I want earl taylor too but 15 may be too high to pick him.

Pierce has been pretty bad since the middle of 2008.
I hate to see such a big part of the 2007 champ go…but I think he’s shot.
How come no love for bringing Fred Robbins back? He might be a bigger part of that SB winning team…he may be shot too, but he’s a year removed now from microfracture surgery.
I hope you mean Earl Thomas, unless there’s some animal that combined Earl Thomas’ excellence in coverage with Taylor Mays 6"3 230 frame?
Rectum? Damn near killed em!
Yeah, I meant thomas from texas. That hybrid mays/thomas would be a killer though. I do hope they bring robbins back to at least compete for a job. I am also one of the rare few that even want to see what bernard has. I just feel that last year with Sheridan, was a case of wrong d cordinator. All these players couldn’t have just forgotten how to play. Sure there were some key injuries but the talent was basically the same as the sb year.. even the 2008 d was pretty decent. I am hoping that with a few upgrades and with a competent d cordinator, we will turn things around.

You have a point with Bernard...
maybe it was Sheridan?
Tho I would say, he did have the whole year to do something. I don’t think he was injured like everyone else either so he has no excuse other then he stinks. They healthy scratched him for few games toward the end too, so I don’t think they see too highly of him.
I’d be surprised if they brought him back…but there’s a chance. They signed him for a reason I guess…..

I dont agree with bernard
He really didnt do a thing last year.. not even in ota’s..training camp.. nothing.. he was injured yea, but nothing serious. And for a veteran, he showed no moxy, no killer instinct.
I personally feel he knew that he got over on the giants w/ the money they offered.. so we didnt hear a peep out of him since the day we signed him. He must have known his days were behind him.
Yes sheridan had a shitty gameplan and couldnt motivate a toddler to eat candy. But somewhere, on one play, in the entire season, your talent has to show up. right?

I agree. Boley and even Canty made some nice plays during the season (not enough), but Bernard was nowhere to be found, and like Free mentioned, towards the end of the season they didn’t even trust him to be on the field. Even C.C. Brown….nahh I can’t bring myself to give him any credit for anything.
15 is a good number

We need to cut our losses..
Bernard was a no show from day one in training camp.I cant remember a single play where i even knew he was on the field this year.As far as canty and boley they did have down years but boley was hurt and did show some flashes and canty who was hurt also was still adjusting to a new scheme.
Pierce who I love for his leadership and excellent seasons in the past for us really does need to go.I would say keep him around for the leadership but they cant afford to bring in someone new and keep him around. His skills have diminished and he has become a liability out on the playing field.
I guess the writing was on the wall on this one...
sad to see him go as he contributed to some good years for us. Pierce was on of our best free agent signing in recent memory (if you take away from plax b/c of the shooting). Free, you and others are probably right on Bernard. However, I can’t remember the giants making a free agent signing then release him the year after. Especially with JR ,who see to have an ability to find talent. They might just give him one more year with a different DC. I didn’t see him make an impact this year but saw some old seahawk games from 2008 and he played well. He is not old.. so I don’t know what happen to his skills.
Replacement
If we could get Derrick Johnson on the cheap I’d be for it.
