Mike Francessa

Do you know which pro teams is Mike Francessa a fan of ? I listen to him via the internet since september. I think he is a Yankee fan but its just a guess. I like his show he seems to do great interviews asking the questions we fans want to hear.

Do you guys listen to wfan? Besides bigblue view what other places do you get your giants info from?

Thanks for taking time in reading my post.

The only sure thing

is that he’s a Yankees fan and a Knicks fan. I don’t know what his team is in the NFL.

hes a Giants and Mets fan

just like every other self-respecting person on this earth

Is it baseball season yet??

Enormous Yankees fan. Giants and Knicks, too. He really knows his baseball and college basketball. A little lacking in football though.

He is not a Giants fan

He rooted for Dallas when Parcells was the Cowboys coach.

by GhostDini on Feb 4, 2010 4:11 PM EST reply actions

He developed a personal relationship

with Parcells when he was with Giants, and it helped his career a lot. So I’m not sure that means he isn’t a Giants fan.

He's a Parcells fan.

Rooted for the Giants when he was coach obviously. Seems to sort of like them now but turns on them in a NY minute. Nowhere near how he treats his beloved NY Yankees (gag) who do nothing wrong in his eyes.

Ha! No I haven't

I try to not listen to Big Mike at all during baseball season. Him being a YUGE yankee fan and me being a Met fan, we really don’t get along. Plus, he’s obnoxious all the time anyway.

Joba, and what to do with him, seems to be a subject that divides even the most arden’t yankee supporters.

like any young starter...give him a chance.

I hate the impatience with him.

Rectum? Damn near killed em!

As a Met fan it makes me laugh

You know, that sad kind of laughing that all of us Met fans have now.

But it just seems like they are totally messing him up. Pick one role and let him do it, for a full season, with no stupid rules other than common sense.

the rules do make sense tho...

Kerry Wood and Mark Prior are proof its good to limit the youngins.

Agree

But by calling them the “Joba Rules” I think put too much of a spotlight on it. Many pitchers have pitch counts and innings limits they just don’t give it a name. That’s what I meant by common sense. Probably shoulda put rules in quotes.

He's a pompous moron...

but I think he’s a Yank, Giant, Knick fan.

Rectum? Damn near killed em!

by FreeBradshaw on Feb 4, 2010 4:33 PM EST reply actions

Yup

Callers ask him what his favorite NFL team is and he says he’s just a football fan. He and Parcells had a falling out or else he’d probably be rooting for the Dolphins right now.

by GhostDini on Feb 4, 2010 5:12 PM EST up reply actions

the problem with mike is he has fallen hopelessly in love with himself. cuts off callers immediately if they dissagree with him. now that he is solo he is almost impossible to listen to. it doesn’t matter to me what teams he favors. what matters is his arrogant attitude and the way he talks down to people. i for one cannot watch him anymore.

Two Faced Francessa

He is OK to listen to the first few times, but after that you realize he changes his opinions at random to either suit the caller or go counter to the callers opinion / comment.
On most interviews he caters his views to whatever his guest is saying, coming very close to pandering to them.
I think that he is better than the jerk “Mad Dog” Chris Russo, who used to be on the air with him at WFAN, in that he mostly listens to and seems to respect the opinions of the people who call in, but he still cuts many of them off too soon. At least he doesn’t rant and rave the way Russo often did.
