I am sure every New York Giants fan knows that there is still a chance for us to make the playoffs. Green Bay loses to the Chicago Bears and we beat the Skins, and we're in. Sounds like it could happen right? We trounced the Redskins before, and the Bears are a pretty good team. So the Giants making the playoffs is still a perfectly reasonable expectation. But that raises the question, do we want to go to the playoffs?
The automatic answer is yes, of course we want to go to the playoffs. Is there a team that doesn't want to go to the playoffs? If we get in the playoffs that means we have a shot at the Super Bowl and gives us another stat to say when we are saying how many times we've been to the playoffs in the last ten years. Now like all Giants fans I would love if the Giants made the playoffs, but...........have you seen the way we've been playing?
The Giants have, no nice way of saying this, completely and utterly choked. A chance to win the NFC East and make the playoffs by beating the Eagles? Nah lets give the game up with 7 minutes and change left. A chance to score a Wild Card seat and make the playoffs by beating the Packers? Nah lets turn the ball over 6 times and let Aaron Rodgers throw 4 TD's on us. Now I know the Giants didn't go in to these games planning on choking, but it's what they've done, and they've looked terrible doing it. Now that begs the question, do we want to go into the playoffs playing the way we have, and likely extend our season only a game further? Do we want to go into the playoffs and embarrass ourselves by throwing massive amounts of interceptions and fumbling the ball like it was greased up before the game? My personal answer is yes we do, because anything can happen in the NFL and all that underdog crap, but if we did make it, I would be watching the game through my fingers the whole time.
So what do you guys think? I figure you'll all answer the same, but what the heck
