Injury Updates: Steve Smith Likely Out For Eagles

Stay connected for news and updates

The good news was that the New York Giants defeated the Minnesota Vikings Monday night. The bad news is that they did not escape unscathed.

Wide receiver Steve Smith suffered a hamstring injury and appears unlikely to play Sunday against Philadelphia. Fellow wide receiver Mario Manningham suffered a hip flexor.

"It's really frustrating," Smith told reporters after the game. "I just got tackled from behind and my leg was like out, something happened. It felt good. Up to that point I felt good."

Smith, of course, was in his first game back after missing four games with a pectoral injury.

Reserve linebacker Clint Sintim was on crutches with a possible ACL injury

Justin Tuck ended up with bruised ribs and an injury to his left hand, and Ahmad Bradshaw aggravated an injury to his left wrist. Those two players apparently expect to be fine.

So, it looks like the Giants receiving corps will be short-handed Sunday.
