What's the story on the Giants receivers?

I wanted to know who's playing and who's not and I haven't been able to find out that information anywhere. I know that Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks, Ramses Barden, and Victor Cruz are out, but why? When are they projected to be back in? Are they done for the season?

I know that we just signed Devin Thomas to the team last week and picked up Derek Hagan. What's our depth chart at receiver look like? What does O-line look like and when will they get healthy?

Barden (ankle) and Cruz (hammy) are on IR, they're done for the year

SS12 has a partially torn peck, but is catching passes this week. I’d say outside shot in a couple weeks against Minny, more likely in 3 against Philly. But he should be back

Nicks has compartment syndrome in his ankle, had surgery and the timeline is usually 3 weeks. Again, possibly Philly…tho I’d say he’ll be a week after that game to play it safe.

Overall, SS12 and Nicks are expected back. The others not.

OL who knows. Diehl is practicing but not expected back this week. O’Hara I’ve heard nothing on either. Andrews just gave birth, so who knows.

Likely we’ll see the same grouping as last week.

slow down, Nicks!

Philly would be just fine!

yeah no point in reaggrevating it against the Vikings

we don’t really need him for that game. As long as he can play against the Eagles we will be okay.

Smith and O’hara should be back for the Vikings game.
Nicks and Andrews for the Eagles.

where are you getting this info?

I’ve heard ZERO on O’Hara, rather only that Diehl is closer.

Smith looks like vs. MIN; I’ve heard Philly at the earliest for Nicks, Diehl is looking like Min; O’Hara and Nicks, really no word I’m thinking GB?

yea

ive heard ohara ran some individual work..but very sparingly. Still listed as a DNP. Smith will be back against Minny im sure. He’s been practicing this week with eli, with pads on (still individual work) but he says theres a very small chance he’ll play vs the skins.

Ohara wont be back by minny though im sure. Im hoping for philly..he needs to get his wind back in a few games hopefully….if this team can continue towards the playoffs w/o him.

Andrews is completely up in the air. He might be out indef b/c this back problem is the same that sidelined him for seasons w/ Philly.

Not so sure we should play it safe with Smith and Nicks

If we lose the Redskins or Vikings game, we’ll probably be saving them for nothing except next season.

it kinda stinks

but unless they can physically go, i wouldn’t rush it. You could also rush someone back too early and lose them for longer.

Man

1- steve smith (pec)
2- hakeem nicks (leg)
3- manningham 4- barden (ankle)
5- cruz (hammy)
6- hixon (torn acl)
7- sinorice moss (sports hernia)

by Nfpdawg on Dec 1, 2010 3:12 PM EST reply actions

wasnt sinorice moss cut?

And is victor cuz technically still hurt? I thought they put cruz on IR to make room on the roster so they could either activate or pick-up someone for the o-line. Either way cruz can’t play but I think manningham will play Sunday.

Both on IR

HAM has nothing wrong with him. He escaped Thanksgiving unbaked.

Yeah

all ties have been severed with Sinorice.

Just keep coming and we'll find a way to win, because the opportunity is there.

Ham

should be a go fasho.. But im wondering why Devin thomas never cuaght on anywhere…he seemed to be a good fit with washingotn early in his career. Hes seems to have height, avg speed, good leaping ability. Not sure washington knows how to utilized that since they’ve always went for short faster guys. I think he’ll catch on here(optimism), we’ve had tooms and plaxico in that same type of mold, so maybe just maybe he will have a chance to have some success.

So I was kicking my friend's ass in Madden last night...

And I had a defensive player named B. Jackson get hurt. This is the first I’ve ever heard of him. Who is he? I think he was either a LB or a safety. Madden has Nicks and the Ham starting, and SS12 as a backup now. Like, Calhoun got hurt so they subbed SS12 in… I don’t play Madden a lot and don’t mess with the depth chart so all of this was a surprise to me.

he's the DB from the Jets

it’s funny b/c he did break his hand….but he plans on playing with it.

wasn’t he the same kid they tied to the goal post in hard knocks?

I know Nicks and SS12 are out in real life

The story is that Manningham is still balling

and his numbers are still getting hurt by his teammates.
