Happy Tailgate ... err ... Thanksgiving Day!
Open Thread for the day, gang! Have a great Thanksgiving, stuff yourself full of turkey, root for the Jets and Cowboys to lose -- and, most of all, stay safe!
BTW, the Captain Morgan logo is there today for a couple of reasons. The bosses tell me I need to catch up on these Captain Morgan sponsored posts and, besides, Thanksgiving Day is like one gigantic tailgate for football fans, anyway. Food, friends, beverages, football. Sounds like a tailgate to me!
Last thing: Looking for a Thanksgiving Day Giants read? Try this piece on Eli Manning I posted over at SB Nation New York.

Sorry Ed But...
As much as it pains me to say this, I have to root for the cowgirls to win today, actually have to root for them to win some games going forward, I’d like to see them beat the saints today and then philly twice…so go get ’em ladies
No doubt
Could use a slew of wins from Dallas going forward – not only to hand teams like the saints some losses, but to tilt that common opponents tiebreaker in our favor. Didn’t think we would be worrying about wild card tiebreaking minutae 2 weeks ago :(
I don't think there's a bad outcome there
the Cowporks winning helps the Giants, but them losing is always welcome.
There’s too many games left, especially interdivision games among those top 3 NFC South teams, to worry about the Saints losing out already.

Clearly , today we are all Cowboy fans.
I may not be the most noble of men but in a town of lepers, im the one with the most fingers.
its easier to root for them
when they break out those sweet 1960s throwbacks.
not true

+1
same. Go Cowboys (shudders)
Also, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone back home. May you all step up and make big plays today, be it in the kitchen (doing dishes, of course) or in front of the plasma.

you have invaded my psyche
I was thinking about people who make a difference in the world, and whether it’s something some people have the ability to but only some of that group does, or if anyone could…
and the words actually popped into my head…
ANYONE can “step up and make a big play.”
curse you! Get out of my head!

Actually
Canadian Thanksgiving is in October.
Let's get it started
Where is Canada located? South of Mexico? :o
We have Canadians in the family, they came down here for a real Thanksgiving celebration.
Just hope they don’t start saying “We’re having turkey, ay? We have Caribu”.
All the Giants should play like Mark Bavaro.
Why is Tom Quinn still ST coach?

Man, those "jokes" were more tired than
we Giants fans are of fumbles.
Jokes yes, Fumbles no
I give in on the jokes, they are old like me.
I never get tired of the fumbles.
As in Forest Gump, the Giants are like a box of chocolates. You go to a game, you never know what you get.
Yeah.
All the Giants should play like Mark Bavaro.

Re the article about Eli not playing like a turkey..
How about some credit to the makeshift O-line that has done what I consider to be a stellar job in relief of the regulars. Maybe with Manningham now forced into the limelite he and Eli can fnally get themselves on the same page. Maybe we can make the molst of this yet.
At least nobody is touting us as the best team in the NFC anymore so we are back under the radar. If we can somehow limp through these injuries we can still make it this year. I believe!!!

I can't root for the Cowboys
Sorry, but my hard wiring won’t permi it. A three game win streak for the Cowboys is anathema; it will put me into some kind of altered state from which healthy return is unlikely. ( kind of like my semi psychotic state triggered by the Giants last two losses) I will root for the Saints to win the division and for the Falcons and Bucs to lose many more games. Thats the only way I can do it. I think that works for us, Right?
I have no choice..It's a 'Marital Bliss' issue..
I hope they just wind up with a tie…When the Girls win, my wife uses her Witten jersey as my pillowcase..with all the static I wake up with my hair standing straight up..
We got 'Vick-imized' by the league MVP...Go Eagles!!!!!!
Yes Happy Thanksgiving everybody..
Say howdy Captain Morgan for me..I’ll be hanging out with Captain Budweiser..I will start to get my mellow bud-buzz on at noon before all the relatives show up..
We got 'Vick-imized' by the league MVP...Go Eagles!!!!!!
Lol
I think its the slightly premature playoff picture by now
Despite his rough night, by the way, McKenzie's +17.1 for the season makes him PFF's highest-graded tackle in the league thus far. Which, the way things have been going for the Giants, means now he will get hurt."
oh...I didn't think about that...
I only want Dallas to win 2 more games this year…both vs Philly…
I DO want to see Brees victimize Mccann ALL DAY!
"18 and 1...write THAT down!!" -- AP at XLII
blame roy williams
lets hope they can beat the eagles twice this year

Makes ya sick thinking these chumps beat us...
We got 'Vick-imized' by the league MVP...Go Eagles!!!!!!
Now I can only hope the Bengals beat the 'Yets'...
We got 'Vick-imized' by the league MVP...Go Eagles!!!!!!
Carson Palmer stinks...
I’m waiting for a ‘Haz-mat team’ to run out, wrap him in plastic and cart him off to be burned deep underground then sealed in concrete..
We got 'Vick-imized' by the league MVP...Go Eagles!!!!!!
You know I used to like him too....
I even forgave him for the infamous “Norman Einstein” comment. But he has lost whatever insight he may have once had. He is so anxious to comment that he constantly talks over the other guys.
Blame the networks too. They are so anxious to show off their graphics that we miss the continuity of the game. Many announcers are so afraid of a second of dead air without their “enlightening comments” that they blabber on while we miss the action.
I watched the NBC game years ago when they didn’t have any announcers and I am willing to bet that a number of you younger guys on this blog would be amazed at how much more of a “being there” feeling you would experience if one of the networks had the nerve to revisit that format. If an option to watch the virgin feed was offered with the ability for fans to pull up their own replays and different angles was offered I would take it.

As I have said on here
once upon a time the techies for CBC (network here in Canada) walked out of the job for a week-end, so the hockey games were done with only the sound from the arena, no commentators. It was one of the most enjoyable viewing experiences I have ever had on TV, and it makes you wish you had an option on your tv to just click off the audio feed from the talking heads. However, we all know the network wants to use those guys to push attention to other tv shows and such, so it will never, ever happen.
