It is ok Giants fans.
As soon as Ed said Steve Smith might be out for multiple weeks everyone panicked. I have stated and will continue to state that this is a big loss but it will not end the Giants season by any means. Obviously Smith is a great wide receiver but this team is equiped to lose a guy or two for a couple weeks.
They still have Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham playing which is still more than alot of teams have in this league. Eli Manning is still the qb of this team and really is the biggest reason these guys have caught on as quick as they have. Alot of you forget about some of the hidden talent that this team has as well. There is still Ramses Barden who now will get the chance to display his talents, especially in the rezone. Travis Beckum has made some plays this year when put in the game and I expect them to use him more now as well.
In my personal opinion this is what I see coming in the next couple of weeks without Smith. I see Barden making more plays than people think. Beckum will probably be more involved in the offense while I also thing Bradshaw will end up getting alot more involved in the passing game to surprise some teams. Also like i said in a comment section I think with Andrews playing left tackle instead of Diehl the Giants can send Boss out on more patterns instead of blocking. This is not the end of the season for the Giants. One player will not make the first half a waste and anyways he will be back before the playoffs anyways. The most important thing is for Steve Smith the get healthy. All in all the the New York Giants will be just fine.

i agree
i originally had the knee jerk reaction and thought the worst… granted you could debate who is the best WR on this staff but if you were to hear that some other teams slot man or WR2 was to miss a few weeks, would you think that team is now going to lose most of the remaining games? would you think the steelers would be in real trouble if say hines ward was out for a few weeks? i think it would be blow to the team but they still have good players, coaching and especially defense to pick up the slack…defense is the key here IMO…still strong on D and we can overcome this bump in the road
