Hakeem the Dream

ESPN New York had an interesting article today about our very own Hakeem Nicks.  Here is the link: best receiver?  The article talks about how Nicks is quickly becoming one of the best receivers in the NFL.  Now I know its way too early to start comparing Nicks to Andre Johnson and the likes, but one can definitely see that the talent and potential is there.  I think Nicks has to be a little more consistent with his hands because he has dropped quite a few passes this year.  Then again, he comes up with some pretty amazing catches at times (see Sundays game vs the Bears).  He's a precise route runner, with big play potential.  He may not have the 4.40 speed that Al Davis covets, but as we all know that is not what makes a great receiver in the NFL, as evidenced by the fact that thus far in his career he is averaging 15.7 yards per reception: yeah I would say that defines a big play receiver. As far as I can see, there are no glaring weaknesses in his game.  It also doesn't hurt that he's got one of the top QBs in the game that will be getting him the ball for years to come.  Time will only help him become more consistent and evolve into one of the best in the game, at least that it is my opinion.

So what do you guys think?
