Let me preface this fanpost by stating, I wrote this prior to the Bears game a couple of weeks ago. However, because I wrote it at work and we have IE6 (please don't ask why) the site wouldn't allow me to post it. I then emailed it from myself and couldn't post it from my Blackberry either. The next week I was on vacation in Jamaica, so it's been a while since I've been able to get back to my favorite site on the web. So, I'm sure this will now be taken with a grain of salt, however at the time that I wrote it, it had a lot of merit.

I've been coming to this site for the past 3 seasons. Usually it's the first site I check from my Blackberry in the morning when I get to work. Even during the off-season because when it comes to New  York Giants football I'm a passionate fan. One of the things I loved about this site is the fact that other fans were just as passionate too; not only just as passionate however, but articulate and knowledgeable about the team. However, I'm beginning to wonder, where have all of those fans gone? What has happened to the culture of this site?

Right now, our team is 1-2. I am fully aware of that. However, now is not the time to panic. The season isn't even 1/4 of the way over. There's a lot of football left and unlike some teams with bad records, we have a lot of talent on this team. I wouldn't trade my team or coach for any other in the league right now because EVERY team is capable of having the types of games that the Giants have had over the past couple of weeks. This isn't something that is going to only happen to us over the course of the season and if I'm honest with myself, this is something that I'd much rather happen NOW as opposed to later on in the season. This team is not playing well right now but they are far from dead. Everyone is worried and they shouldn't be. The players seem worried, the fans seem worried but we're going to be fine.

It's disheartening to come on here each day and see people who have already decided that we're going to be 1-6 or 3-7. I mean what kind of prediction is that for a "fan"? It's one thing to be a realist and to call things how they are. A realist would look at the team and say that it's a talented team that's not playing well right now, however at the end of the day, talented teams don't usually remain bad. I'm optimistic and I still think the Giants have a good team, we just need to get tougher and minimize our mental mistakes. It would be nice to come here and see more people thinking this way because it feels like I'm apart of the minority around here.
