Breaking news: Bears DE Adams dies

You never expect these kinds of things. Here is the report.

Bears defensive end Gaines Adams has died at the age of 26, according to the Greenville News in South Carolina. NBC4 in Greenville confirms the report.

Greenwood County Coroner James T. Coursey said Adams was declared dead after he was taken to an emergency room Sunday morning. Coursey said Adams appeared to be in perfect health.

i was just on nfl.com

and came here and saw it, checked back with nfl.com right after and they had it…but no indication anywhere what he died from.

This is sad...

wasn’t he with TB earlier this year?…if i recall correctly (which i rarely do) but i think he played pretty well against us this year…made a few really nice plays.

Terrible news. Most of my family are Bucs fans. The Bucs drafted him with a top 10 pick a few years ago if I recall. God bless his family.

Somber news.....

and a wake up call to the sport. The way these guys bulk up, it’s unreasonable to believe that the heart will grow in a healthy manner to support the extra mass.

A horrible loss of such a young man. It makes you question alot……….

Adams had an enlarged heart.

Apparently this was known? A decision about whether or not to play sports with an enlarged heart is not as uncommon as you might think. Here is a link that describes the causes…
