Terrell Thomas is great against the run
Football Outsiders credited him with the most tackles on running plays among CBs, with 40. (Of course, some of that is likely due to missed tackles by the DLine and LBs.) Good for him. If any CB was to move to S, he would seem to make the most sense.

i totally agree.. i think if we can get ross and KP healthy, moving TT to safety would be the best move. Thatd leave ross, webster, bruce johnson at the top 3 CBs. Plus pick up another DB, either CB or safety in the draft, and i think the secondary will right back to 2007 form

It would actually make ZERO sense to move him to safety.
Aaron Ross needs to be cut. He has talent, but he’ll never stay on the field so he’s unreliable. So that only leaves C-Web as the only starting caliber CB on the squad.
TT is the Giants best CB. It would be like moving Steve Smith to CB cuz he can catch.
C’mon man…
How come China can't vote David Lee for All-Star?
dude theres no way aaron ross should be cut
besides this year which was obviously crap.. ross has had a good 07 and 08.. unless im forgetting something. if the guy can stay off the injury report hes a solid #2 CB behind webster.. with those 2 playing cb.. it would only make sense to get our other best DB on the feild… ie move him to safety.
it all comes down to whether or not ross can stay un-injured.

Ross is always injured.
He’s always that guy walking back to the locker room before halftime.
He can never stay healthy.
Terrel THomas is the Giants best CB. You’re obviously missing that. It makes no sense to move him from CB.
Cutting Ross is an option…one I’m pretty sure JR will look at. You can’t rely on this guy taking up roster space..no matter how talented he is, if he’s always gonna be injured.
Not enough is made of the fact that Ross was hurt at the end of last season and for the playoff game, tho he played against Philly.
Ross probably will stay on the team…but at most the 3rd corner in the rotation and a fill in FS.
To rely on him as a starter..and put TT as a starter? No….flat out.

**put TT as the starter at safety.
just wrong Plax….pretty much as wrong as bringing in a gun in a club.

wait a minute
Ross played in 15 games in 07 & 08 each. he only played 3 this year. sure he was hurt, but would you cut Osi because he missed all of 08? Ross has ranged from very good to mediocre when healthy. i really disagree that cutting him is the right move.
and CW is our best CB. coverage is more important for CBs than tackling.
TT was good in coverage only going to get better
he reminds me of revis a bit big and physical
also ross will be a good corner to keep as a third corner therefore we could have a good rotation and keep everyone healthy and not tired

tell that to many Eagles fans
who watch WR’s break 60 yd TD’s on Asante Samuel…cuz he can’t tackle.
Tackling’s as important for a CB as coverage is. Your not gonna bat down or INT every pass…and if you don’t wanna be Brandon Jacobs’d by LeSean McCoy…you better be able to tackle.
Ross played in 13 games in 2008, and 14 games in 2007..so I dunno where the hell you’re getting those numbers from.
Also, he’s always…ALWAYS going back to the locker room before half…and maybe coming back for the second half…maybe not.
He’s not reliable. I’ve seen too much #35 Dockery out there on the outside cuz Ross is not on the field cuz he’s hurt. He may not be in street clothes..but he’s not in the game.
Ross is a liability if you rely on him. Cutting him…maybe not the right move, but its a move they need to look at, cuz you just can’t rely on a guy like that. Developing someone else with that roster spot would probably be a better idea.
Corey Webster was the best corner in 2008. TT was the best corner in 2009.
That means right now…TT is the best corner.

Cut Ross?
No way, but i get what your saying, I will say Webby and T2 are def the best CBs we got and either one of them could be considered our best, they both have their respective strengths… and moving any of them to saftey is not and option, Thats for EMERGENCY only.. We just need to draft or sign a real saftey and be done with moving peoples natural positions, It just doesn’t work… and keep Ross he has value as a nickle DB specially with Dokery and Bruce on the roster we are good at CB position(If people can stay healthy enough) 13 games from Ross woulda been a God send this year…
In football, you can always maim a person if you wanted to. -L.T.
If i didn't know any better
Aaron Ross’ career is starting to resemble another high drafted CB in Will James (Peterson). Will was released because of his inability to stay healthy. He had potential, thus he’s been a journeyman in his career because of this. Even with saying that, his game logs show to this date, he has missed alot of time.
So how long do we hold onto Ross? Injuries don’t make players better, it just shortens their careers. I would dare say that if he misses what may seem like alot of time next year, then he’s probably done as a Giant?!
this is what I'm saying...
he’s a liability on the roster to rely on him.
Some people wanna talk about who could be traded….why not trade Ross?
I don’t think its delusional to say they could get a 4th rounder for him. He’s a very talented CB..maybe some GM takes a chance on him?
Hey..the Rangers found a way to trade Scott Gomez…there’s a reason there’s something called the Dumb GM.

As a fan, i'm willing to be patient enough for one more year
Though his first two seasons of missed games wasn’t as bad as this years, next year will sway my opinion. At this point, it’s hard to determine if the hammy was flukish, or will it be habitual? Perhaps an off-season of rehab etc… will help? I think thats what makes his value a bit murky? It’s too bad that Matt Millen isn’t in Detroit anymore. Though Ross isn’t a WR! lol
Like i said, i’m patient enough, but if a fourth was available, i would strongly consider it.
Profootball outsiders rated him with a -2.1
21st worst in the league
I think you mean profootballfocus
http://profootballfocus.com/cstats.php?tab=by_team&season=2009&teamid=21&stype=a&stats=d
His -2.1 was good for 87th among CBs who played 25% of their team’s snaps. That -2.1 would have been good for 65th safeties who played 25% of their team’s snaps.
wouldn't take that too seriously....
Bruce Johnson was a +2.1……
