not surprising at all...coming from big al

i hope Jacobs “bobby bouchers” his ass come Sunday….but Albert knows damn well that Jacobs usually trucks LB’s, CB’s, and Safeties. It’s just simple logic…you can’t truck someone if your getting hit in the backfield. It’s like punching someone in the face w/out “winding” up…your not gonna have anything behind that punch.

trash talk....

Is it me or does everybody in the nfl like to trash talk on jacobs…. I hope he sets an example this Sunday maybe run over landry again…. jacobs does his talkin on the field….

by nycity on Sep 9, 2009 4:03 PM EDT reply actions

Most of the nfl doesnt like him because his “im a bad-ass large running back, now bow to me attitude.” You are correct that he gets trash talked more so than other RB’s. He wont likely get to the second level enabling him to hit landry again, Though I bet if he does, landry will go for his knees, effectively ending the NY midgets season in one play. Good Luck.

by TheOverLordMarshl on Sep 10, 2009 12:11 PM EDT up reply actions

Was not aware that “most” of the NFL doesn’t like him. That might be a washington thing. If Landry goes low enough for knees, I hope he doesn’t get his neck snapped. Good luck.

Haynesworth

just knows that Jacobs won’t have time to run up a full head of steam to take him out. What a pansy. Let’s see what the Redskins LB’s and Safeties are saying.

I picture Laron Landry looking somewhat like this guy next time Jacobs is running his way

Really?
Thanks for the bulletin board material too BTW.

Your team shouldn’t need bulletin board material in the first place. If the Giants (or any team) need bulletin board material for a game they’ll probably end up losing.

by bigrm18 on Sep 9, 2009 6:31 PM EDT up reply actions

no one "needs" bulletin board

material to win you Redskins fan.

I could give a rats ass if he ever said it. But he did. So now its bulletin board material. That’s it.

No one on the GIants has said anything. So now when Jacobs runs over Haynesworth..its gonna be shut your mouth AL, the is the NFC Beast, not no Pissant South division.

What the f$%k is the internet?

by FreeBradshaw on Sep 9, 2009 6:32 PM EDT up reply actions

the is the NFC Beast, not no Pissant South division.

There’s nothing better than seeing New York’s wonderful educational system being put to use so well by a Giants fan.

So now when Jacobs runs over Haynesworth

Ha… I’m not even going to try and tell you how idiotic that statement was. Haynesworth getting run over… that was the funniest thing I heard in a few weeks.

All I’ll say is see you this Sunday…

by bigrm18 on Sep 9, 2009 6:39 PM EDT up reply actions

Idiotic huh...

Yup, we’ll see you Sunday.

….tho you may be right about Haynesworth, cuz he’ll be tied up with Snee, O’hara and Seubert all day, he probably won’t get the chance to get run over.

What the f$%k is the internet?

by FreeBradshaw on Sep 9, 2009 6:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Good news
cuz he’ll be tied up with Snee, O’hara and Seubert all day

That’s great news and the exact reason Haynesworth was brought over. He’ll draw double and triple teams all day while Andre Carter, Philip Daniels, and Brian Orakpo will have their weekly meeting at the quarterback.

by bigrm18 on Sep 9, 2009 7:11 PM EDT up reply actions

Please see

How Tom Brady’s shoulder is just beginning to heal itself after Haynesworth pounded on it. Please see the fact that Haynesworth actually eased up on that play and will do a lot worse to Eli Manning this Sunday. My advice to Manning is to be afraid…be very afraid.

by bigrm18 on Sep 9, 2009 8:47 PM EDT up reply actions

well yes

when that much weight falls on your shoulder, it will hurt. if you’re hoping sunday that albert injures eli and knocks him out of the game to win, well that’s just against the spirit of the game and even with carr in it won’t make much of a difference in the run game.

by cntrlalt on Sep 9, 2009 8:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Eli did just fine after 2 Haynesworths landed on him last year…aka Shaun Rogers.

Sorry Mr. 1st grade graduate! Im sure you got all A’s on Mrs. Smith’s spelling B on Monday didn’t you…….good for you!

Yes I am a first grade graduate, as well as a second grade, third grade and so on and so forth graduate. If you need assistance I can help you to become a first grade graduate as well. It’s not as difficult as you may think it is.

Actually in first grade my teacher’s name was Mrs. Bauer, and yes I did get all A’s on her “spelling B” as you call it. The “spelling B” may have been on a Monday but I’m not quite sure because it was so long ago.

like the 2 times the Giants beat the crap out of the Skins last year

We can sit here all day talking about the times you’ve beat us twice in a year or the times we’ve beaten you twice in a year. It all doesn’t matter because come Sunday no one’s going to be thinking about the past.

…and will do this year

Are you a psychic or something because if that’s the case I could really use the lottery numbers.

I don’t care about Haynesworthless

Oh, and his name is Haynesworth, not Haynesworthless. Just thought I’d clear that up for you since your QB will be seeing a lot of him this year.

by bigrm18 on Sep 9, 2009 9:31 PM EDT up reply actions

maybe

but prior to this year, his contract year, he’s had a reputation for under performing and taking plays off. now that he’s gotten his big payday how do we know he won’t revert back to the player he was?
your whole argument seems to be relying on one player with a history of being lazy dominating the line of scrimmage, which is the best in the NFL and taking out one of the NFC’s leading rushers.

by cntrlalt on Sep 9, 2009 10:06 PM EDT up reply actions

huh?

If you said “he’s had a reputation for not playing a full season”, I’d agree with you. But “underperforming”?
Please! I understand not liking the guy, or the team. But if you want to have a legitimate debate on it, you can’t make stuff up. When the headlines on Haynesworth read

Haynesworth has been selected to two Pro Bowls in his career and is currently considered “the most dominant defensive tackle in the league.”

or:

Defensive tackle rankings: Nobody dominates like Haynesworth

and you say he underperformed, that actually makes me happy. Because that mean he could actually be BETTER. Which tells me that our D-line could be more than improved, it could be the best in the league. Thanks.

I'm cool

FreeBradshaw attacked me first because I am a Redskins fan I guess. I most certainly didn’t come on this blog to talk trash and didn’t come on this blog to be attacked either. Believe it or not I came on here to have intellectual football conversations with an occasional light-hearted “jab” at one another’s team if that isn’t too much to ask.

by bigrm18 on Sep 9, 2009 11:25 PM EDT up reply actions

well

that’s a crock, you came here specifically to talk trash…your first post had no thoughtful analysis. it was simply a mindless attack on a rival team. lets call a spade a spade.

by cntrlalt on Sep 10, 2009 3:10 AM EDT up reply actions

How was my first post a “mindless attack on a rival team” exactly? This is specifically what I said:

Your team shouldn’t need bulletin board material in the first place. If the Giants (or any team) need bulletin board material for a game they’ll probably end up losing.

Notice that I said in parenthesis ANY TEAM that needs bulletin board material is going to lose. So according to you I’m attacking every team in the NFL, including my own. As I said before, FreeBradshaw was the one that replied to my comment with an attitude, cursing, and talking trash. This is exactly what FreeBradshaw in reply to my comment:

no one “needs” bulletin board
material to win you Redskins fan.

I could give a rats ass if he ever said it. But he did. So now its bulletin board material. That’s it.

No one on the GIants has said anything. So now when Jacobs runs over Haynesworth..its gonna be shut your mouth AL, the is the NFC Beast, not no Pissant South division.

Completely Different

There’s many areas that we’ve improved upon since last year so throw the records out the books. Not to mention the fact that we didn’t have Haynesworth and Orakpo last year, our rookie receivers have become competent, we’re in our second year of the offense, and several other improverments. The records in years’ past have no barring whatsoever on this Sunday’s game. Believe it or not I’d say this even if we had the better record against you.

You replied to my comment with ill intentions and trash talk so I did the same to your comment. Also, notice that when you came on Hogs Haven nobody (including me) replied to your comment with any vulgarity or a seemingly angry type of comment. Why was it okay for you to come on HH to defend your team, but it wasn’t okay for me to come on BBV and defend my team?

It seemed as if you were “yelling” in your reply to me and it seemed as if you were angry that I was even on Big Blue View. May be you were joking in your comment, I don’t know, but as I said it before, it seemed as if you were angry so I responded with an angry comment myself.

But I’ll end it with this.

I commented on Haynesworth’s comment…you commented on mine.

by FreeBradshaw on Sep 11, 2009 8:24 PM EDT up reply actions

You replied to his comment

Which wasn’t aimed at you at all, so who did the attacking?

Your point about trash talking and being attacked is worthless, why else do you come on a Giants blog and start bandying about with personal abuse. And yes, questioning someone’s education counts as that!

Stick to the football teams and no-one will (hopefully) go nuts on you.

by catsmeat84 on Sep 10, 2009 4:32 AM EDT up reply actions

i did no such thing

re read the comments and the names of those who posted them. i replied to bigrm only in the context of the game tomorrow, i never brought any personal attacks into the mix.

If I were Landry

I’d be real pissed at Haynesworth right now. Haynesworth isn’t the one who has to face a full speed Jacobs in the open field.

by hocke26 on Sep 9, 2009 5:49 PM EDT reply actions

good point...

I just hope Laron doesn’t come up with some cheap shot b/c he’s afraid of getting posterized again.

by andiamo708 on Sep 9, 2009 5:54 PM EDT up reply actions

neither is Laron

I believe a few of you noted before that Jacobs picks up steam coming out of the backfield. The point is, he won’t be coming out of the backfield, up the middle, at full speed like he did against Laron (and the rest of the team). And not just because of Big Al. A lot of people are forgetting Daniels. While he’s no all pro, he is the strongest DE in the league, and a much better run-stopper than Twinkle -toes Taylor, who we had there last year.

Anyway, I like the fact that none of you give the Skins a chance. Neither does anyone else, so I can’t blame you. But the Skins have historically played much better as the underdog, and they have a much better team to do it with this year.

by CJHutch on Sep 10, 2009 4:33 PM EDT up reply actions

suppose the skins get lost

in the ‘sexy picks’ that make up the rest of the division, which is no bad thing. the 2007 giants got wrote off early because of those two devastating losses and stayed under the radar for a lot of the rest of the season because of the freakshow in dallas and the focus being on that very good patriots team. we all know how that went down.

by catsmeat84 on Sep 11, 2009 4:28 AM EDT up reply actions

question...

does anyone think Aaron Ross is going to get “Wally Pipp’d” by T. Thomas?

Yankee fans should know what that term means but for those that don’t…

Wally Pipp played for the Yankees…he missed one game…a guy named Gehrig stepped in…the rest is history. literally.

It's not that we're grammer freaks

Punctuations, paragraphs, grammer and so on, make it easier for the reader to understand one’s point. There are cases (J-man) that I can accept. I’m no English major, but I do try to convey my thoughts that they may be understood. I think that’s all we’re asking for.

by njgiant on Sep 10, 2009 8:43 AM EDT up reply actions

Grammar, and such

‘NJ’ and ‘catsmeat’ make a good point. We don’t/can’t/shouldn’t expect perfect grammar and spelling. What we would like is an effort to do the best you can. In the case of ‘g-men-fan,’ the content of his post is excellent, and I am happy to have him here. I found it difficult to get through the comment, though, simply because of its ‘run-on’ nature.

I think ‘catsmeat’ was simply trying to point out that posts like that would be easier to read with a little bit of proper punctuation, that’s all.

Haynesworth V Jacobs

Can I just say how much I love this stuff? I love this football trash talking, and from Week 1? From a Division Rival? This is getting me very pumped up. I’ll be wearing my Jacobs jersey with much anticipation now.

However I’m not going to buy into this Tom Brady hurt soldier “Haynesworth’s gonna kill Eli” talk. Yes, Haynesworth broke the pocket and crushed Brady. Problem is…

Been there, done that. And what’s with the lackadaisical concern about your own QB? The jury’s still out on who has the best line, but I can guarantee every discussion mentions the line of Tuck, Osi, Canty, Kiwi, Bernard, Cofield, and Robbins.

by YankeeDudeL on Sep 10, 2009 12:13 PM EDT up reply actions

actually

I’d have to concede without argument that the Giants line is way better than the Skins line. While Haynesworth is the best player of the bunch, the rest of your guys would start over the rest of our guys. I know my fellow HH’ers are gonna be pissed for saying this, but I can’t deny it. That Giants line is one of the sickest D-lines in years.

by CJHutch on Sep 10, 2009 4:38 PM EDT up reply actions

kudos

for saying it. There are some big ifs though, we’ve already had more than our share of niggles and knocks and injuries which have really impacted the depth that this killer line is based upon.

by catsmeat84 on Sep 11, 2009 4:32 AM EDT up reply actions

You can also add

that Eli’s been there and done that with the fact that he’s been sacked, hard, by a large DT.

Call last season what you want, but it was his best statistical season. And he did it after early on Shaun Rogers, who is about 60lbs heavier than Haynesworth, did what he did to Brady…except for real.

What the f$%k is the internet?

by FreeBradshaw on Sep 10, 2009 6:31 PM EDT up reply actions

How about a dose of reality on this situation

Jacobs isn’t going to be running over AH and vice versa. The reality is AH is going to be double teamed most of the time and maybe even triple teamed, leaving an extra guy or two to get to Jacobs early at times. If AH gets to Jacobs himself, than its that much better. This isn’t something i’m making up, watch any game film you can of AH and watch what happens on most running plays. It’s amazing what it takes to stop him. The Giants will be no different, it will take extra man power to slow him down. That’s something that wont show in Haynesworths personal stats but will make a big difference for the rest of the Redskins defense.

Couple that with the question marks the Giants are having with their receivers and now the injuries in their secondary and I think this game could be really close. I’m not saying the Skins dont have and question marks but we already know what they are and everyone expects the Skins to just roll over. I think the Giants are somewhat unsure of themselves right now and it could be a good time to win this game on the road.

by skinsymets on Sep 10, 2009 1:54 PM EDT reply actions

If we start Bruce Johnson

that’s at least 7 for you right there. Maybe 10.

I’m hoping that secondary aside, we’re 14 points better than you (which would become 7 or 4 in the final score) and that the unit of the game is the Giants’ D-Line.

The Giants have 8 consecutive years of winning matchup 1. That has no bearing on this year. But I’m hoping the trend continues!

Also of note the ‘Skins haven’t swept the Giants in 9 years. Since 2000 it’s been 6 splits and 3 Giants sweeps.

You play to win the game!

by Simms-McConkey on Sep 10, 2009 2:20 PM EDT up reply actions

Your stats are correct on matchups

at some point though, like everything else in all sports, it will change.

Also to note, our receiving corp was not very good last year. Kelly and Thomas stepped up vastly in preseason this year. Could be the just what this team needs.
