OK, stay with me on this one...

In the NFL draft this year, the Giants traded up from 91 to the Eagles’ spot in the 3rd round at 85 to select Ramses Barden. It also cost the Giants their 5th round pick (161 overall).

The Eagles then took the Giants’ 91st pick and traded it to the Seahawks for their 5th round pick (137 overall), their 7th round pick (213 overall), and their 3rd rounder in 2010.

We then took the Seahawks 5th round pick and packaged that with another 5th rounder to acquire Ellis Hobbs.

Then, we traded the Giants 5th round pick acquired earlier to the Saints for their 7th rounder and a 5th rounder in 2010.

So ultimately with our 3rd round pick (and a late 3 at that) we were able to acquire the following…

- The Seahawks 5th round pick, which was used with another 5 to get Ellis Hobbs

- The Seahawks 3rd round pick in 2010

- The Saints 7th round pick in 2009

- The Saints 2010 5th round pick

That, my friends is putting on an absolute draft-day clinic.

Now, all that said, and I apologize for going such a long way to make this point… I wonder if in a few years I’ll be saying “Maybe we should have just taken Barden there ourselves.” The guy seems to “get it.”

Bye, Big Stew and JJ :(
