Jerry can't "pick" winner, Giants win by a "nose" and "boogie" out of town

Photo

I couldn't resist overdoing it with puns.

Wish the picture was better, I'm sure one will make the rounds later.

Few things funnier than seeing this egomaniac caught knuckle deep in the booger bunker on national TV, and in front of (say it with me, we only heard it 450 times last night) "the largest crowd to ever watch a professional football game" at the Grand Opening of "The House That Ego Built"

$1.3B for a stadium, and you still have to pick your own nose? What a ripoff.

Sorry for being such a snot.

dude!

you made me almost spit out my Tai food. That was great.

The only thing better than seeing that 1.3B mid-life crises get quiet was watching our boys get a little pay back for all the years of them winning at the last second with that kind of drive.

That was one of my favorite moments last night.

The only thing that could have topped it would have been seeing George Bush choke on a pretzel.

OMG, Jim, that was horrible...

But a good one lol.

I’m assuming Jerry is right-handed, and seeing how the pick(s) no, not Romo’s but Jerry’s, was with his left hand, so he probably wasn’t shaking too many hands after the game?! lol

There were a few more ways you could have overdone the puns – but you resisted. Great job !! :-D

From way up here

…atop the NFC East, you can see everything! Even the booger Jerry Jones just wiped on his new McMansion. Well, at least you can’t say “Jerry Jones blows.” Oh, wait. Yes you can. Jerry Jones blows. The Cowboys blow. Wade Phillips totally blows and I hope he’s their coach forever. Romo? Blows. DeMarcus Ware? Blows. Roy Williams? Blows. Marion Barber? Does not blow. He can play. The rest of them are a joke.

I love this view.

I left my swagger in my other pants.

Today is a great day to be a Giants fan

and what I wanted to say comes a bit short of being worth a fan post. Great things: Shitting on the Jerryworld grand opening; Eli in the final 2 minutes of any game, the glue-hands of our “terrible, green, unproven, no-name” receivers; my heart rate when Tynes comes on with the game on the line …
I was watching this game with the same guy who watched the NFC CC game vs. Green Bay and I almost turned my back on the screen like I did that day for the winner…
Now maybe a minute of perspective?
We’re 2-0 and that’s the best we hoped for. We have 3 games coming up that we all expect to be favored in. And therein lies the trap! Don’t be surprised if the G-Men are 4-1! I am obviously going to pick them to win, even objectively, every week. But man, I spent some of this morning engaging in schadenfreude just reading the Eggles and Cowgirls blogs. The eggs are down on McNabb, semi-down on Kolb, hatin’ on their defense, it’s the end of the world. Cowboys fans want Romo dead. Complete misery there, more than what’s warranted.
So I guess what I’m sayin’ is, right now everything is looking up: shore up some defensive issues, red-zone issues, and roll to the Bowl… Let’s just not do any ledge-jumping when the Giants inevitably do lay an egg at some point. Jump off the ledge and you might pass a few Eggs and Girls fans on the way down.
p.s. the Giants all-time record at JerryWorld is 1-0!

You play to win the game!

what a great game....

the last game i remember being this exciting would have to be the pittsburg game from last year.

It was so great to watch Webster take Williams outta the game especially after hearing how great Williams was all week by the dallas fans. All willams could do was block (which he did a pretty good job of).

But also, all the chatter from dallas how their WR are better than the ours…well, they weren’t last night.

Manningham was the best WR on the field…and a lot of that was with Newman guarding him.

THIS, was with 2 members of the secondary out and both safties missing a lot of practice with injuries.

one thing i would like to say....

i was critical of the giants cutting travonti johnson in favor of Bruce….

I was dead wrong…dead wrong and i’m man enough to admit it.

speaking of bruce johnson

he looked lightning fast on that pick 6. sinorice moss hasn’t looked to great on kickoff returns. i wouldn’t mind seeing this guy get a chance

by bmanley620 on Sep 21, 2009 3:40 PM EDT up reply actions

I dont know why they even try moss on special teams. He’s just awful. He can’t make anyone miss and goes down after the 1st hit. But I’m all for him getting a chance to make some plays on offense.

by Nine Inch Nails on Sep 21, 2009 9:20 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

however...

is anyone sick of Danny Clark starting yet?

how much longer do we have to suffer with him at SAM. getting 1 assisted tackle per game is simply not cutting it. We need to move Chase over to SAM or even Kehl.

With sintim’s groin injury lingering it’s tough to assume he can step in and start right away…but we need a change…

Clark is a smart player…he pointed out that the giants missed a lot of gap responsibilities…the problem was…when Clark recognized the correct gap to defend he got easily blocked and blown outta there.

by andiamo708 on Sep 21, 2009 2:30 PM EDT reply actions

Tired of Clark too

Other than the intangible of experience, Clark is just a body on the field at this point, and doesn’t add anything to the defense. I call him Mr. Invisible. You usually can’t see him because he’s covered up by a fullback.

by Tucker Fredrickson on Sep 21, 2009 2:35 PM EDT up reply actions

Hey Tucker

I remember you well. Those were the tough old days. You were only one of the few good players
on the team. Hope all’s well with you now.

by Olddiehard on Sep 22, 2009 11:27 PM EDT up reply actions

meh...

tough to blame one player.

I think most of the big runs were as a result of all out blitzes being dialed up and the Pies just calling runs.

But the fact is Kehl or Blackburn hasn’t shown enough in practice, for whatever reason, to beat him out.

So he’s gotta be doing something right.

What the f$%k is the internet?

by FreeBradshaw on Sep 21, 2009 2:38 PM EDT up reply actions

i'm not blaming just Clark...

the truth is, Dallas ran at Osi a lot and had big time success. I just think that it’s a crime that Clark starts above Chase.

and yes, your right, he’s gotta be doing something right …. what it is i honestly have no clue.

Nice adjustments

Putting aside Manningham’s great stats, I saw two things that made me really optimistic about his progress as a receiver. On the long ball that he caught, and on the touchdown, he made very small but essential adjustments on the ball to make sure he was able to get the balls in front of him and shield off the defender. That kind of savvy will help make him a good target, even when he’s being reasonably well covered.

I do think other teams are going to start watching for that little step back pass, and we can’t count on him breaking a bunch of tackles on that play every week. Hopefully, once defenders start cheating up to cut that play off, he’ll be able to blow by them.

I'm going to coin my own phrase for that route....

“Pretzeled”. Steve Smith had him twisted like a pretzel. Thing of beauty.

really great LOLs

i LOLed at every pun that made me think of wet boogers coming out of jerry jones’ nose. i only would have LOLed harder if jerry put the booger he just picked in his mouth and then ate the booger. i also would have LOLed like REALLY hard if there was a shot of jerry’s pants and it had some pee dots from where he didnt shake himself enough and a little bit of pee got on his pants, because i happen to personally think that pee is just a LITTLE more LOL inducing than boogers. but not too much.

thanks for the LOLs Jim. i look forward the giants first game against the eagles where you can point out andy reid’s skid marks. that will be good for more LOLs than even boogers or pee combined i think!

Lets hope that when gut check time comes again the Mets will pass it with flying colors.

Yea...

I heard the entire team will soon be joining them in there “mining” exhibitions to try and help pay for the new diggs.

Schadenfreude; it’s what’s for dinner.

But I sure hope we get some relief from the injury bug soon.

Respect

I think you have to respect a guy with that much money who still picks his own nose. And with his bare hands, too, not some complex contraption with a gigantic TV screen hanging from it.

Nah..They were just

Digging for answers..They were looking for the “Boogie-man” and sick him on the Giants..Either that or Jerry was trying to flick one at Phillips and Phillips was attempting to retaliate…then again, maybe Phillips saw his boss on the new TV picking his nose and immediately decided he better start picking his nose..If Jones flicked that thing, it could have hurt somebody down on the field…that would deserve a fine from Goodall…then we’d have a new “Booger-picking-flicking” rule established..Bottom line is if it was just a necessary pick your nose incident, then go hide and do it..Don’t have it broadcast on your brand new 60 yard X 90 foot HDTV.

Actually..

That may very well have cost them the game…Who in the hell would want to do something great on the field, only to face high-fiving two clowns that wads of snot on their hands..Geezus the flu is going around!!..I’d prefer to throw an interception or fumble versus that!
