the injury list is freaking huge
Did not practice Thursday:
Safety Michael Johnson* , OL Adam Koets, CB Aaron Ross*, WR Hakeem Nicks*, RB Danny Ware, DT Chris Canty
Limited:
S Kenny Phillips*, LB Michael Boley*, CB Kevin Dockery*, LB Clint Sintim*
Asterisks indicate players I think would/could be important contributors in this game.
Bottom line, our secondary is looking ragtag and it's only week 2. Can Webster cover 2 guys at once? The damn Cowgirls have a similar receiving corps to the Giants whereas they've got like 4 equivalent targets. Meanwhile, we've got 2 safeties and 2 CBs hurt? Somebody pinch me, this has to be a nightmare...

A lot of this is Coughlin playing the injury list game with the Cowboys I think
Boley, Sintim, Johnson, Phillips and Dockery will play Sunday night

Major, what do you mean, "you think"?
LOL, we need definitive answers! I hope at least 80% are a go and the limited to no practices are only precautionary and they’re as game ready as possible! I do remember a certain someone that barely practiced, but was ready for Sunday! I hope i’m right or else i’m with Simms-McConkey on this one!

"precautionary"....
what a joke that is…
Dockery was being held out for Precautionary reasons last week….he didn’t play vs. Washington
I love the giants, and I applaud them for keeping information in house…but for the fans we’re often times left in the dark.
They said last year Cofield and Robbins were “banged up” but did anyone know both would require surgery…I didn’t.
now they’re saying they have to maintain KP…no guarantee at all he makes it through the season. Of course we all hope he can but in what capacity??

I'm staying positive because the Giants didn't pick up a safety
and CC Brown can’t play FS and SS. Boley has looked good although only in limited time. Sintim and Dockery are being brought along slowly but there is no sign that they aren’t going to play Sunday.

I doubt it...
boley will play…looks like Johnson will play.
Sintim will most likely be out.
Dockey is iffy…
Sintim, dockery, and Johnson all were held out of practice TODAY.

'Sintim, dockery, and Johnson all were held out of practice TODAY'.
That doesn’t mean they won’t play Sunday night. We’ll see on Sunday morning who will play and who won’t.

which may be true.
but to suggest that coughlin is playing the “injury game” … well that is simply not the case.
Friday’s practice is the most important. So if these guys could go they would.
Like I said above, i expect KP to play…but i’m not holding my breath on Dock or Sintim…in fact I’ve already accepted the fact they won’t play.
There’s already speculation that dockery had a “set back” w/ his hammy…
heck, after canty strained his calf…coughlin said he was “day to day”….but today they say it’s sever and canty could miss week 3 as well.
Obviously i want everyone to be healthy…but i’m not looking at this situation through rose colored glasses.

I admit I'm a glass half full kind of person
so maybe I am just looking at this injury report with hope more than facts but I just don’t believe, other than maybe Sintim, that Johnson, Dock, Boley and Phillips won’t play Sunday. They may not start but I think they’ll play.

not a bad thing...but i'm admittedly the opposite.
with that said…I think w/out question boley will play. I think the same goes for KP.
It’s Sintim and Dock that worry me most…
the good news for Dock and Sintim is that it’s only week 2. on the flip side, that’s bad news for KP because this is going to bother him all year long…

The most important thing is
Our O Line is healthy and the Cowboys got shredded last wk by the Bucs Run .. …The Bucs O line isnt nearly as good as ours and I have a feeling Jacobs and the fellas will have a big game….

giants.com
says that boley wasn’t limited yesterday— it’s got him listed as full participation. at least its a small victory

Most important
I think are Philips and Boley, granted with our depth at LB i don’t wanna rush Boley back.

just didn't seem to matter...
these guys come to play. Bruce Johnson has been absolutely sterling these past two weeks. Looks like this RFA is going to be locked up long term by this team by midseason!

the Giants had another find a few years ago in Dockery
hasn’t played yet, but by all accounts is just as good as any corner on the team not named Webster.
Bruce Johnson might be the fastest player on the team too. What a find, tho its not unheard of for players from The U becoming stars.
The more you see players like him and Manningham in action, the more you can’t argue with Reese being an excellent evaluator of talent (of course and the rest of the staff too….)
