Giants' Webster schooled ... by a 4-year-old!
From Ralph Vacchiano of the NY Daily News comes a priceless tidbit regarding Corey Webster's extra-curriculars on Sunday with Santana Moss of the Washington Redskins.
Giants cornerback Corey Webster is one of the last guys anyone on the team would expect to get into an on-field fight, but that’s exactly what happened early in the second quarter on Sunday. Webster got into a slapping/shoving match with Redskins receiver Santanta Moss.
And his actions earned him a personal foul and got him in a little post-game hot water.
No, not with Tom Coughlin … with Webster’s 4-year-old nephew.
Webster, upon his return to the locker room, noticed a text from his nephew’s father that read "Your nephew wants to talk to you about the fight." It wasn’t a phone call that Webster was looking forward to.
"You never want to display nothing like that on the field," Webster said. "I don’t know how everybody else feels, but I have a little boy that’s four, my nephew that’s four and a nephew that’s six, and my nephew called me up and said ‘That’s not right.’ So I have to have a conversation with him when he gets off from school. It’s like he’s the parent. He’s trying to tell me it’s not right."
Now, Mr. Webster, go write "I will not fight" on the blackboard 1,000 times.

awwww
my sister got mad at me when her boy was complaining to me about being picked on and my response was “Well, why didn’t you punch him in the nose?”
It’s always good in sports to be able to keep your head and take the yards and be the “bigger man.” But C-Web oughtta sit them kids down and say, “Sometimes you just have to kick a little Redskin/Cowboy/Eagle ass.”
You play to win the game!
lol
My blood pressure is already high during the game, that got it higher and I loved it(Only because there were no flags) That reminded me why I missed football so much!
The fact is that a certain percentage of
human beings are bullies (children and adults) You have to stand up to them or they’ll make your life miserable. Easier said than done sometimes, but every kid should learn the basics of self-defense, enough so that no one will try to push. Get the smallest kid into wrestling and no one will screw with him.
As for Webster, I’m sure TC reamed him a bit, but from what I saw (wrenching on the nose guard could lead to serious injury, even death) he had no choice but to protect himself. I think the NFL should review the situation and come down heavily on Moss for that ugly tactic.
he started it...
and what’s Webster gonna do? Let the fly keep annoying him?

Amen Gonz
My wife wants my 3.5-yr-old girl in Irish step dancing … but I’m gonna go ahead and trump that. My little girl is taking jiu-jitsu in the spring.

Great stuff.
C-Web is slowly (but surely) becoming a household name…
"We'll show up tomorrow and do the same thing we try to do every day, kick Pedroia's ass in cribbage and try and win a baseball game."

He just gets so much better every game I watch him...
dating right back to that Cowboys playoff game in 07…the one where he dropped the potential pick 6 that NO ONE TALKS ABOUT.
Webster probably will be a household name when he makes the All-Pro roster this year…much easier to say than Nnamdi Asomugha.

Plus he leads
Asomugha in the catagory of not being burnt at the one yard line. NNamdi didn’t look so super on that play.
Some of you kids..
Are riot..lol!!!..I love it..!!
I meant "Are a riot"..lol
Now go learn some football..and then come talk to me..You were all in diapers or not even born when I played the game. My knees, elbow and shoulder got torn apart..I don’t think that many of you know how these injuries can kill a career that you aspire to.. reach and then get canned..We can only hope that Ware’s elbow is minor..else he’s done..and I already see the writing on the wall.
Well, it's official...
Corey Webster’s coming out party was 9/13/09.
I think i’ve read more comments from giants fans about webster in the past 4 days than I have in the past 4 years.
Obviously great interecptions will do that but this is really long over due.
The fan post i threw up a couple months back will show you his staggering #‘s from ’08. W/out question a PB CB last year but didn’t get it b/c he didn’t have enough INTs.
CWeb just wasn’t effecitve in that old defensive scheme that we were running…once spags came in and let him play man to man and let him jam those WR’s at the line he quickly became a shut down corner. Prior to that they wanted him to play 10 yards off the WR and play that zone crap.
I don’t agree w/ Carl Banks…“Prevent” Defense is not “appropriate” defense…its useless and ineffective. Just ask Jim Fassel.
We've been on C-Web's jock since what, '07?
The rest of the world’s fandom is just gonna have to catch up. Also, I’d put a prevent defense in under 1 minute in the game with opponent needing 50+ yards

The Giants used the prevent on
Buffalo’s last drive in the SB. Damn, I sweated bullets. If it wasn’t for Norwwod’s wide right… After the game, Parcells said he knew he couldn’t make that kick. Too close for comfort for me. Well, Tuna always had a touch of braggadocio about him.
moss
definitely instigated it. he kept pushing him in the facemask. webster just reacted like anyone else would. that’s why they should coughlin talking to webster after the play. he might have been a little irritated, but if it was really webster’s fault, coughlin would have been boiling red with anger
That's funny!
That’s funny, I don’t care who you are, that’s funny right there!
Glad Webster knows what he did. Now he has to answer to his nephew, not sure what’s worse, facing him, or Coughlin.
