Inactives
From Mike Garafolo.
CB Kevin Dockery, CB Aaron Ross (hamstring), OL Adam Koets (ankle) and LB Clint Sintim (groin), who were all on the team’s injury report this week, as well as WR Ramses Barden, G Tutan Reyes, T Guy Whimper and DT Leger Douzable.
I knew the first 2
but Sintim and Barden? And I thought those three OL’s were supposed to be the depth, why are they hurt?

How/\/what search did you run to find the webcast?
Conan!, What is good in Football?!
Daa.... to run between the tackles,
To drive the linebackers before you,
And to hear the lamentations of the cheerleaders.
Whether they got the 1st down or not, it does say something that they had 2nd and 3 from the 5 and, at best, barely got 3 yards in 3 tries.

Things are plenty chippy out there today
Got to make sure that does not bite the Giants in the ass later.
Oh course it was 95/5....

They shoulda taken one shot. They we’re at the 41, they needed about 25 yards. I need more aggressiveness at the end of halfs.
by wilddre22 on Sep 13, 2009 5:35 PM EDT via mobile reply actions
I would agree with you if we started on the 21. At the 41, you have to attempt to move the ball, every second is precious. Especially when they just got a little momentum back, you don’t want them going into the locker with any confidence.
by wilddre22 on Sep 13, 2009 5:51 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions
I like that play call by Zorn
nothing bugs me more than coaches calling pansy plays. Now we can stay focused coming out of the half and dominate them again without fear of letdown. Would have liked to see a shot for a FG try. We had a TO right?

think about it
except for that trick play that caught the giants completely off guard (which wont happen again), the redskins have been able to do nothing on offense. our defense is dominating and the offense is moving up and down the field nicely. im very comfortable where we’re at right now
by GiantsReignSupreme on Sep 13, 2009 5:43 PM EDT reply actions
Spags head melted down in his first game I think
They were down 7-0, blocked a FG, and ran it back to tie the game. The booth called down, they reviewed the play, and his special teamers had TWELVE players on the field, so the penalty was a first down.
This then lead to a Seattle TD… that is an OUCH and a half swing right there.
its gonna take more than a new head coach
to turn around the rams. i do wish the best for spags though

seriously. He can’t make up his mind and gets the plays in too slowly. Not kidding
No doubt
That’s what makes his bad-decisions so much more frustrating. He’s a smart QB, does a lot of those things well.
Just makes some bad throws sometimes.
He's a bit of a gunslinger..
he thought he could fit that one in. And a tick sooner, he would have.
The fact it was so deep in the Giants zone made it that bad, but still it was real close.

What did I say??
Redskins offensive line is no match for the Giants front four.
Haynesworth hobbles off at least once a week, and gets gassed easily. $40 million really well spent, Skins.
They couldn’t even throw against a depleted secondary. Campbell stinks, and their supposed new WRs didn’t do anything.
I don’t want to hear from Redskins fans any more this season, their cute little team stinks on ice.

is it just me
or is the team still having problems in the red zone like last year. how come we always get to the red zone like its soo easy and then end up with fgs. this has to stop
I think that they mix up the offense so well that they get brain cramps with the short field
There is just no continuity in what they do in the redzone but a ton of creativity and flare everywhere else. Very strange
Are you fucking kidding me !?!?!?!?
1:29 left, the opponent has 1 timeout, and you do a hand-off on first down ?!?!?!?!?
Shades of Pisarcik to Czonka !!!!
What horrible clock management !!
All you have to do is kill 9 seconds of live action in 3 plays. Have Eli back up a step or two before the kneel-down, and you kill at least 3 seconds per play. Game over. No hand-off, no potential for Jacobs to fumble. I’m flabergasted !!!! Someone should lose their job over that kind of bull-shit !!! Really detracts from an otherwise nice win (except for the other inexcusable mental error on a fake field goal).
First game of the year guy....
nothing is gonna be firing on all cylinders.
First FULL game I should say.
But its the Giants, if you’ve been paying attention for any sort of years, they always make it interesting.

Chill, Shof
You have to run one play there. No choice. Be happy, for crying out loud. You have a terrific team to watch, and the Giants won.

Disagree Ed ...
You have to run 3 plays, but only use up the 9 seconds of live action. No-one would have complained back in 1978 if there wasn’t “The Fumble”, but there was.
That is just not a mentally well prepared team when you take a thoroughly unnecessary risk.
actually.........
the fact they ran and took up 4-5 seconds on the run made them not be forced to punt on 4th down.
I agree that the flashbacks from “the fumble” probably ran through your head, but it didn’t happen now did it?

Yeah, but ...
you can eat up the full 9 seconds with 3 “modified kneeldowns” where the QB takes a few steps back before kneeling (other teams do it all the time), and not have to punt on 4th down either.
I really think every team should have someone who’s job is to figure out such things and advise the coaches who are caught up in the heat of battle. It’s just too easy to avoid a bone-head play, even if it only happens once in a blue moon.
Unfortunately ...
My “GiantsTourette’s” was well under control … until that “70’s flash-back” moment.
But I guess that’s what makes them the Giants …
Eli
Eli had a great game. He was the best player on the field today.
Eli did look sharp ...
Thought he looked pretty good in pre-season, but you really need to see it when it counts.
If he “takes the next step” this year, that could bode very well for our changes to go far into the play-offs.
Agreed...
besides the forced INT under pressure.
"We're only going to score 17 points?!" - Tom Brady
eli is the man
i dont think any other qb can create the niche hes made in ny. too many inflated egos. were lucky we got the one whos down to earth.
I wouldn't trade,
Eli for the world. I live and die with everything he does.
"We're only going to score 17 points?!" - Tom Brady
Honestly, Peyton is too old now. Brady maybe wearing down.
So Ben and Rivers are really the only choices over Eli
and I wouldn't choose Rivers....

nah...
I know other guys have more stats, but who could work with Kevin Gilbride with the success Eli does?
