How about this for a trade...Dominnick Hixon and Steve Smith plus a 3rd round draft choice; with room to make the pick a 2nd rounder if goals are attained) for Anquan Boldin?

If Im Jerry Reese
never in a million years do I give up all of that for a bigger Steve Smith (our Steve Smith).
Might as well just keep who we got, Boldin really isn’t all that much better. He plays in a pass happy O, always has. If they threw Smith the ball 20 times a game, he should get similar stats too.
GODZZIIIIIRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!
without a game under their belts
and everyone is hissying about wahh wahh we need toomer, wahh wahh we need Torry Holt/Braylon Edwards/Brandon Marshall/Marvin Harrison/Anquan Boldin WAHHHHH
If the Giants aren’t a top 10 passing team this year, it’ll be because of the pass-happy attacks of less successful teams (I’m lookin’ at YOU, Sean Payton!)
You play to win the game!
differences
I’m not saying SS is better. But here’s a comparison:
Things Anquan Boldin has that Steve Smith doesn’t: 5 extra years of age / character issues
Things Steve Smith has that Anquan Boldin doesn’t: Key 3rd down catches in a Superbowl-winning drive / a ring to show for it
You play to win the game!

Anquan Boldin basically shattered his face, had it reconstructed, looked like some sort of mutant, and played a few weeks later. I’ll take that kind of “character” on my team any day.
As for the “things Steve Smith has that Anquan doesn’t” – That’s great that Smith had a few nice plays in the Super Bowl. Good for him (and I like Steve Smith as a nice up and coming role player). But I think I’d take a guy with (4) 1,000 yard seasons, obvious extreme toughness, and youth (sure Smith may be 5 years younger, but Boldin is still only 28) over a young guy with 1 career TD.
Bye, Big Stew and JJ :(
