Blogger journal: Chronicling the experience
A real quick blogger journal entry since I am up here in the Adirondacks and my Internet connection is unreliable at best.
Friday was an interesting day for me. I was quiet most of the week, didn't ask any questions during group interviews or really go out of my way to seek anything on my own. As Giants Communications Direction Pat Hanlon had told me to do early in the week, I was just going with the flow.
On Friday, though, I decided it was time for me to dust off the reporter skills and really start acting the part. So, I got myself involved in a Ramses Barden interview. Jumped into a Travis Beckum interview, and after a media session with Hakeem Nicks I grabbed him before he wandered away to ask him a question or two about the comments made by Butch Davis the other day.
I tried to get a couple questions in for Tom Coughlin, but my efforts went unanswered.
If I am going to be there, I am going to act the part. I have done this before.
By the way, I loved Coughlin's attitude on Friday. It was Autograph Night, and he told the assembled media at the beginning of his post-practice press conference that he would rather be with the people, and that we were keeping him.
He kept it short, then went off to meet and greet with a group of disabled youngsters and wheelchair-bound elderly. He's a class act.

Good for you Ed
Easing back in is a good idea, but also good to see you are back into the swing of things. Hope you can continue to bring us good stuff in the coming days.
Tom Coughlin
I have never done a complete 180 with the way I feel about someone the way I have with Coughlin. I was screaming for his head after the 8-8 season and the 0-2 start in ‘07, but now I think he’s one of the best coaches and people in the league. Funny how a few well timed wins can change one’s perceptions, huh?
