Giants sign Sintim, Beatty

Scratch that stuff I posted earlier about rookies Clint Sintim and William Beatty not being signed.

Here is a release from the Giants that just arrived.

The Giants announced today that they have signed both of their second-round draft choices, linebacker Clint Sintim and offensive tackle William Beatty.

Sintim was selected from the University of Virginia with the 45th overall pick, which was obtained from the New Orleans Saints in the Jeremy Shockey trade. Beatty, a 6-6, 307-pounder from the University of Connecticut, was the 60th overall selection.

With the signatures of Sintim and Beatty now on contracts, first-round draft selection Hakeem Nicks remains the only one of the Giants’ nine draft choices that has yet to sign. Giants players report to training camp at the University at Albany on Sunday.

To make room on the roster, the Giants waived wide receiver Micah Rucker and linebacker Kelvin Smith.

That is really good news. Except, that is, for the devastating blow that was just delivered to Micah-mania. Now, if the giants can get Nicks signed before Monday that would be awesome.

Nicks is gonna depend on the other guys ahead of him getting signed

or at least one of them. Once Maclin and Harvin sign (hopefulyl they don’t each hold out….well Maclin holding out would be OK with me).

Id say Nicks is there for camp on Sunday.
