Torture....

Has anyone re watched the playoff game from last year??  I am putting it on dvd and man is it painful! I really wanted to see where we were and how we need to improve to avoid this for the upcoming season.

We had many chances, with the great openning return by Bradshaw, drop by Smith in the first drive, PENALTIES which killed our momentum, obviously Eli's pick, and it just goes on from there.... Dockery made a great pick also

I thought that was the moment that would define the game. If the Giants could go get a TD the game was their’s, but we all know how that ended up.

just saw that play

he almost got away… they show TC’s after game presser and said that exactly gotta have TD’s, we had decent field position

Defense

most overlooked reason cuz they werent missing a guy who shot himself. They were missing one of the greatest DE’s of all time to retirement and also their best speed rusher in Osi.

Missing 2 DE’s like that, by Week 18, hurts even if you’ve overcome it the whole season.

Agreed

darn good season considering.. yeah the D was gased by the playoff game, watching it again we couldnt get to mcnab at all very frustrating for a team that relies on the pass rush…

also

I feel that Eli’s pick doesnt happen if a certain some one is in the line up at WR….

by GiantRB27 on Jul 30, 2009 2:57 PM EDT reply actions

Just looked at that play

That pick doesn’t happen if the Gmen run the ball. It was first and 10 and I’m not sure if Dwight Howard could have caught that high pass. If anything, the damn kicker changed the course of the game. Bradshaw couldn’t get past the damn kicker! We settle for 3, game over. Think of how deflating it would have been if Bradshaw had taken it to the house. That opening kickoff set the tone for the game and the tone was in Philly’s favor.

Good call

Nice Dwight Howard reference. Yeah we were backed up there and bootlegged to the left, when the sweep to Jacobs was prob the play..
remember 2000 eagles playoff game?? ran the opening kick back Dixon…

Dwight Howard

would be a monster tight end.

by cjmulrain on Aug 3, 2009 11:31 PM EDT up reply actions

He would be a monster tight end, and he would save the team money. The guy wouldn’t need shoulder pads.

i don't even remember it

I immediately went home and watched the Championship DVD my wife bought me that I hadn’t watched. Although, after seeing a few… the NFL network’s America’s Game is by far the best look at the championship I’ve seen. One of my favorite plays I remember from the run hasn’t been any of them yet. And that would be Patrick Crayton missing the easy first down that probably would have won the game for Dallas

by queler on Jul 30, 2009 4:00 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah that was

great especially with all his trash talking… hahah

by GiantRB27 on Jul 30, 2009 4:51 PM EDT up reply actions

Crayton

will now and forever ALWAYS be my favorite Cowboy. That was just one of the least clutch playoff plays I can think of. Right up there with Pinkston alligator-arming it for a crushing interception on an easy slants.

I cant wait for the

Best game DVD set to be out August 25th I believe

There was alot of plays that killed us

One being that Eli INT inside our own 10. There was a few others, Eli under throwing Steve Smith early, he also underthrew Hixon on another play where he had his man beat on a fade route, Derrick Ward had about 2 or 3 plays(seamed like this happened often with hmi) where he broke out and ended up 1 yard short of a first down, ending in a FG Attempt. Carney had a missed FG too, Eli forced alot of throws and at the end of the half the defense was playing way too soft. A few penalties hurt us, but in the end that game goes down to the offense getting FG’s instead of TD’s. We score on 2 of those drives instead of kick FG’s, and that may be a different game.

agreed

also our defense was so tired by the time this game was played. They looked slow and unable to get it going, so I am not shocked that Jerry Reese went out and got Canty, Bernard to sure up the d line, this should help out everyone come Dec and Jan.
Your right there were so many little things, small mistakes that cost us. Also would the game had gone differently if Bradshaw takes it to the house on the openning kickoff???

4th down conversions anyone?

that might have played a role in the loss.. maybe, though. its not a sure thing.

didnt understand

why you let Eli sneak it?? Jacobs baby everytime. I know that he got stop once. They know we are going to him can you stop it???

by GiantRB27 on Aug 4, 2009 9:53 AM EDT up reply actions

playoff game

noone was more devistated then me. i went directly to get a NY tat on my low back…and im female.lol Remember tho. jacobs was playing injured, and plax gone we had 0 double coverage that day which left their defense to just slaughter us!!! Eli had no where to throw the ball. Plax didnt just shoot himself he also shot his fans.. He let us down!! we all said “O hes not that important” but in the end he was cuz he sucked up the opposing teams defense.
and on the defensive side… OSI…. We really needed him. With the retirement of the GREAT Micheal Strahan.. We were left short there also. THANK GOD hes better.. no one better put our best players in during a pre season game again!!!!!

at least now

there are now more stupid distractions for ANY of the players, they can focus on football.

"tatoo on the lower back"

… makes “I’m female” redundant! Just kidding, welcome to the fray.

You play to win the game!
