Report: AP to be charged
There are reports today that New York Giants' linebacker Antonio Pierce will face gun charges relating to his role in the Plaxico Burress shooting incident.
New York Giants linebacker Antonio Pierce is facing gun charges stemming from an incident last year involving teammate Plaxico Burress, an attorney says.
Michael Bachner, a lawyer for Pierce, told Tuesday's New York Post that New York district attorneys will seek an indictment against Pierce from the same grand jury now hearing evidence against Burress on gun possession charges.
I wish this would go away, but that apparently isn't happening. The Giants don't need this.

Email the DA's office
AP is certainly not a criminal. The guy was put on the spot and acted as most honest people would under similar circumstances — imagine you and a friend in the same circumstances, would you call the police on him or take him to the hospital. My understanding is that he told police everything after the fact including where the gun was. The DA going after him is absurd and clearly just about headlines. New Yorkers should drop the DA an email and let him know that this is BS, their behavior with the public statements is unacceptable and it will not be forgotten come election time. Although it shouldn’t make a difference but as a Giant fan I can’t help but feel like the DA is screwing with the quality of my life on this issue so I’m extra pissed
Now that Burress ain't a Giant...
I hope AP turns state’s evidence faster than a McNabb hurl to get those charges dropped. And that’s coming from a guy who spent a summer in jail for refusing to drop a dime. I hope they aren’t really friends, just ex-teammates. AP should ditch the street cred and clear those charges with the first priority being to put this behind him immediately.

This is outragious!!
How the heck could AP possibly know that Burress didn’t have a license for the gun???.He was helping a friend get treated…What was he supposed to do? Carry it into the Hospital?? This DA group are morons..He rushed his teamate to the Hospital you DA jerks!!…and he brought the thing and dropped it off at Burress’s home..again what was he supposed to do!?!!…He did nothing at all wrong..I am white, and this smells of racial profiling..disgusting, and they are probably taking bribes from Jerry Jones…Antonio is not a criminal…He should be applauded for the actions he took. He saved a life for chrissakes!!!
Could he have just left the gun behind and taken his friend to the hospital?
That’s probably what I would have done. If someone shoots themself my first instinct would be to stay away from the gun.
how will this impact the Gmen?
The giants linebackers need pierce. What does this mean for AP? Is goodell going to suspend AP somehow for involvement in this? will he somehow get jail time?
This sucks.
Pierce should be left out of it. Perhaps the DA is going after him to get him to roll on Plax for the 2 years he (DA) wants Plax to serve? I don’t like lawyer games.

Colts and Giants fans joining together for the common good.
It’s a beautiful thing. Best of luck next season.

lol and thanks.
The Giants are my NFC team…no choice really, my hubby is from Jersey. =-)
I look forward to watching the G-Men take the NFC East…I still think that Philly isn’t going to be as good as everyone (read: talking heads) is projecting.

Pierce
This justice system is all screwed up. Pacman’s buddy left a man paralyzed in Vegas and Pacman walk free, Pierce helped a team mate that shot HIMSELF, and now Pierce is in trouble.
While I see how Pierce can be charged
The timing of this just SMACKS of either trying to force Pierce into testifying against Burress to drop the charges. Nothing like leveraging on someone at the worst possible moment (especially considering for MONTHS nothing has been said about charging Pierce… not a peep).
Bri,
that’s SOP with prosecutors. Charge everyone to the max… divide and conquer. It’s not unusual, we can only hope AP plays ball … so he can play ball.
