Here are a few New York Giants' notes for another July day without football.

If you want to chat with Giants' wide receiver Sinorice Moss, ESPN's SportsNation is offering you that opportunity this afternoon.

Giants' running back Ahmad Bradshaw ran a football camp for youngsters this week in his hometown.
Some folks still think veteran linebacker Derrick Brooks would be a good fit for the Giants. Maybe so, but don't hold your breath. The Patriots' MO is to go get veterans like Brooks to fill a hole for a year or so. The Giants, with GM Jerry Reese, prefer to fill with younger players who have upside. Seems to have worked out pretty well for both teams.

Don't know how much gas Derrick's got left

in his tank, but if he does it’s worth a look. D has character with a capital C. He’s like George Martin or Harry Carson, with the work ethics of Walter Payton. If its a choice between a young maybe got’s prospects and Derrick, that requires some thinking, are we going for it this year? the O-line isn’t going to be young for ever.

I live near Tampa and watch some bucs when it doesn’t conflict with the prime directive. Derrick’s one of those guys who’s always in the right place, which seems like a good fit for a D who wants to stunt on the line.

He doesnt have much left... he was pretty bad whenever I watched the Bucs last year

In fact he gave up the TDs that let OAK beat them in wk 17

Supplemental draft

Have the Giants ever gotten someone useful from the supplemental draft? I seem to remember the immortal Dave Brown was such a pick, and wasn’t there a TE from Notre Dame in the early 90’s?

Not sure about TE

Derek Brown was from Notre Dame & played in the early 90s, but he was a first round bust. They drafted a few TEs in the 1st round in the early 90s that were all busts. It was ugly. Anyway, can’t think of another TE from Notre Dame from that era.

As for Dave Brown, ugh! He was the supplemental pick and the Giants dumped Simms to start the Dave Brown era? Yikes!!

Im glad the Giants learned their lesson

from dave Brown and stay away from teh supplemental draft.

THere are a few gems here and there (The Ravens massive LT Jared Gaither was a supplemental pick), but I like the real draft thank you.

ANd here’s what Id like to say to Sinorice Moss…STOP GETTING HURT !

id think having a sportsnation chat he would have some ideas on anything. come on he was getting question non giants related and he seemed to have a hard time putting together a sentence.
