Should we make a play for Marv Harrison?
This article brings back worries of our WR core: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/9787230/Positional-Power-Rankings:-WR/TE-packages
I think that we might need to go sign Marv Harrison. I understand hes way past his prime, but I think he could take pressure off of Hixon, Smith and Manningham, and for sure can help a young Nicks and Ramses as well to become complete WR's. I know that we are set in our ways and we want to get younger and faster, but maybe signing Harrison for a year or 2 wouldn't be such a bad thing. His stock has clearly dropped and I am sure by now he is looking to goto any contending team who will take him for pretty cheap. Any thoughts?

No way
You have a valid point about the lack of veteran leadership in the WR corps but Harrison is not the answer. Not only is the guy past his prime but he’s a nut case as well. The guy is quiet which has helped suppress his reputation as a mean and somewhat paranoid s.o.b.
He was always alone on the sidelines during his tenure with the Colts and we all know about the mysterious dropped gun shooting charges and the chocking incidents involving a ball boy and fan during the pro bowl respectively.
So as far as Harrison passing along sage advice or pulling a portion of the workload, it just won’t happen.
Respect that Opinion
I know it was far fetched for sure. And the post wasn’t a knock on our young WR’s because I think Jerry Reese has done exceptional, Hakeen Nicks will be a star eventually, I see Steve Smith always as a slot type but with enormous potential and I really think Domenik Hixon is vastly underrated with alot of potential. Call my crazy I even like Super Mario Manningham that kid was too good in college to just fade into nothing and Ramses could be a great red zone guy. I just am not sure those young WR’s have what it takes this year without a number 1 or a mentor. I thought of Torry Holt before he signed also, always liked that guy.
You are probably right about Marv, he has always been quiet and maybe bringing on another WR with legal trouble only spells disaster for us. Just a thought though.
Nah
If the Giants wanted a once-great aging receiver with declining production, who could probably still catch 40-50 balls given the chance, they would have kept Toomer. The Giants prefer young players with upside, not veterans who are hanging on. And I agree with that philosophy.
NFW
With his diminished skills, what can he do that Steve Smith cannot? This would be a total waste of money.
MARVIN HARRISON
SEEMS LIKE HE’D BE A GOOD GUY FOR THE YOUNG TALENTS WE HAVE TO LEARN FROM, THE GIANTS COULD USE SOMEONE LIKE HIM, UNLESS SOMEONE GETS INJURED IN CAMOP THAT’S THE ONLY CHANCE HE MAY HAVE AT BEING A GIANT-

Problem there is
Harrison has always been a keep to himself type of guy who rarely interacts with team mates. Not sure there is much of a teacher in that head of his.
exactly right.
