Which division has the best? Part 1: NFC East
Ok, I will be making a all star team form each division. Starters and Backups. Based on comments I might tweak the teams a little. After the teams are finished we will vote the best through the worst. Each week we vote which all star team gets booted when they get booted. The team with the most votes each week played the team with the least. Then the second most vs the second least and etc. Then we vote off who would has the least chance. Today will be our division
Edited! Again

Most is OK with me
yet I was skeptical when I read Leonard Weaver over Madison Hedgecock. THat’s just not happened.
THen you lost all credibility with Chris Snee as a backup, to his teamate Rich Seubert (who IS very good.) and Randy Thomas (who is ALSO very good). Snee is one of the elite guards in the game. Maybe a step below Steve Hutchinson, but most def. right there with him. There is not a chance he would be the backup in the BEAST.
And while I see they have talent, giving the Eagles 2 bookends as the top in the division is pretty funny too. I don;t know if Diehl deserves that, but at least him and the human false start Adams have been tested as OT’s in the Beast. Peters no, and Andrews was a guard most of the time was he not?
Yea, keep the Eagles homerism on that "Green’ site. You know, the one where you talk about who is the best player/team in the division, create a fan pole on the subject, and yet somehow on an all Eagles site the Eagles/or the player wins out…..I get a kick out of that.

In my opinion
You could place D-ware at all the positions on D and it would be flawless.

corey webster backup?
webster is a backup to no one in the NFC. let alone the frauds that you put ahead of him. Next to Namdi there is NO ONE BETTER!!!
Westbrook starting for the all nfc east team? no shot in hell. while he is a phenominal athlete he is NO WAY the best back in the nfc east… dont believe me, look up all the 3rd and shorts that he could never pick up.
shawn andrews starting at tackle? he has never played a down at tackle. why not just put demarcus ware at tackle he is a much better athlete??

I like Webster too, but let’s not get carried away calling him the 2nd best CB in the league. And I hope you’re not referring to Asante Samuel as a fraud.
by Bye, Dawk :( on Jul 13, 2009 9:44 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Asante is not a fraud
Carlos Rogers, Terrance Newman, THOSE are frauds.
Does Webster start over those 2? I would, based on last year C-Web was as much a shut down CB as any in the Beast.

hater
how many passes has he caught for a big gain? Or how many runs has he broken for? Also he can pass block too. Jacobs has jus as many health issues and is a one trick pony. You can argue Portis but those two would def. be one and two on the depth chart.
by birdsflyinhigh2590 on Jul 13, 2009 2:00 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yea,
Clinton Portis overall is hands down the best RB in the division. From a durability standpoint, pure running skills, hands, and the fact he is the best blocking back in the game, CP is the best RB in the BEAST.
Of course, if Westbrook would ever stay healthy, Id be OK with him. And what is the sense of calling Jacobs a one trick pony? OK, he doesn’t catch well. Is that all RB’s do?
by FreeBradshaw on Jul 13, 2009 4:07 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Jacobs is a monster
He also has some quick feet but his game thrives almost entirely of running through the opposition

Asante is just as good as Webster
He’s better than Newman though

D-Ware
I’m glad infallible agrees that D-Ware can play anywhere.

NFC East coaches
How about posting the head coach and 2 coordinators for each team? That would be interesting to compare and judge the coaching staffs.

why bother?
he’s just gonna put all Eagles coaches in there.
by FreeBradshaw on Jul 13, 2009 7:39 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I can see Coughlin as head coach and Jim Johnson as DC. The rest are up for grabs.

Guards
When Rich Seubert is a starter and Snee is a back up, you show your colors as a non-Giant knowledgeable fan. Overall the list is not horrible.
I think Webster is a starter.
I think Jacobs is the starter and Westbrook is the change of pace who takes over the game.
I think Hedgecock is a starter.
I have no idea who Gerald Sensabaugh is – so maybe I’m the non-knowledgeable one?
Fun topic to discuss though!

fraud
i am talking about samuel as a fraud. look at the stats no one is better in the nfc than corey webter. go look it up tough guy. ypa webster> whole NFC, passes broken up webster> whole nfc,
go back to dreaming the eagles are gonna win the superbowl. they got there once when the whole nfc was horrible and now you have visions of grandur that they will get there when the nfc is great. yeah okay pal.

Samuel
is a tad overrated, great brains, but a little short.
by queler on Jul 13, 2009 11:09 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Here's how much of a playmaker Asante Samuel is...
There are only TWO current Giants… 2… that have more career TD’s than Asante Samuel, who bhe way, plays defense, and is still only 28 years old.
by Bye, Dawk :( on Jul 13, 2009 8:07 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Asante is like...
a baby Deion Sanders
Sanders first six seasons: 30 ints. 6 tds.
Samuel’s career: 26 ints. 4tds.
Asante isn’t too far behind one of the greatest to ever touch the roc.
by birdsflyinhigh2590 on Jul 13, 2009 9:44 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Bye, Dawk made a far fetched let true statement
and I think it should be left there.
Comparing Asante to Deion just brings the whole perception of Eagles fans down a notch. Are you frickin kidding me?
NO ONE threw at Deion. Asante gets his picks and can take em to the house, but I doubt there are any teams that truly believe they have to avoid Asante at all costs.
He’s good, he’s the best in the Beast for now. He was overrated in NE, but as with all Philly corners he become a lot better than his talent.

+1
Prime Time: If we were playing a game of pickup basketball, what should I expect?
Tony Romo: Well...I'd spot you 10 points if we were playing to 11.
by aussie_cowboy on Jul 14, 2009 7:40 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Far fetched, but true?
Don’t they kind of contradict each other? The only point I was trying to make is that he’s an outstanding playmaker… That’s it.
And just to correct birdsflyinhigh2590, Samuel has 8 career TD’s not 4, if you include the playoffs.
Isn’t that crazy though? If he played for the G Men, he’d be 3rd on the entire team in career TD’s. Incredible.
by Bye, Dawk :( on Jul 14, 2009 4:52 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
far fetched doesn't mean false
it just means that given that the Giants actually don’t really have any offensive players other than Eli and the line that’ve been playing all that long.
That’s why its far fetched, cuz it doesn’t really mean anything. 4 career reg season TD?s, So…..On any young team, mainly youngins that were behind veteran starters for their brief career even if they were in the league for more than 2 years, a guy with 4 TD’s might be up there on the team.
He’s a good playmakter, and that stat IS CRAZY, but true for now.
Give the WR and the backup running backs this season, and
by FreeBradshaw on Jul 14, 2009 5:41 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I said regular season didn't I?
he has 4 career regular season TD’s..and 4 career playoffs playoff TD’s. Point?
by FreeBradshaw on Jul 15, 2009 4:16 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I still said 4 regular season TD's
…..point?
by FreeBradshaw on Jul 15, 2009 9:02 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
i don't think he's a fraud
I would say most corners are probably overrated given the rules, so maybe take my remark based on that. But Deion? Gimme a break
by queler on Jul 14, 2009 1:07 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
haha giant fans
I said he was like a BABY deion, just like you might say Osi could be like a baby Strahan. I can understand what you say, Asante does take chances but if he didnt he wouldnt have the stats he does now. That’s what makes him a playmaker and that’s what made Deion a playmaker. No sacrifice No reward

also doesn’t make any sense

lots of good RBs
but I think id rather have marion barber and barndon jacobs as my 2 RBs, at this point any their careers. portis and westbrook’s best days are behind them.
Lets hope that when gut check time comes again the Mets will pass it with flying colors.
by kendynamo on Jul 13, 2009 1:59 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I dunno
Portis and Westbrook still are as good as Tiki was at this age. I still take a complete back any day, even tho Marion Barber can catch with the best of them too.
Its hard to pick cuz each really has their own style. I just say that Portis has a blend of everything including some power, that’s why he is the best in the division.
Would I trade him for Jacobs? I don’t know, cuz when Jacobs is healthy the big guy is as good a weapon as any.

Jason Peters has to be the most overrated tackle in the NFL.
What man is considered the best tackle in the game after giving up 11.5 sacks in 2008, 17 the last two years?
by xMattex on Jul 25, 2009 5:55 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Westbrook
Hes pretty damn good. But seriously Clinton Portis probably has to be the best back. Its hurts me to say this because I hate all the teams within our division, but Brandon Jacobs just can’t seem to stay on the field a full season with the type of smashmouth football he plays.
by wangstu13 on Aug 1, 2009 4:56 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Good choices overall.
At CB, I would put DeAngelo Hall ahead of both Rodgers and Smoot. Smoot does not make this team.
At MLB, I’d take Fletcher over Bradley.
