RE: Derrick Brooks

I have read a few places that Big Blue is talking with Derrick Brooks about a one or two year deal for protection over Boley plus depth.  Anyone else heard the rumor???  If so is this a move that puts too many def. players on the roster seeing we have so many linemen and linebacker's already?  I think I wouldn't mind seeing this pickup if it's a low cost (based on production) type of deal.  I mean he still has a little bit in the tank plus he is a veteran that can help the younger guys right!!

I thought about it

but I forgot about guys like Wilkinson and Keihl and Danny Clark still has a pulse too. Clint Sintim, Boley of course and you can add Chase Blackburn in there too.

No need unless all of a sudden a few of these guys are out.

He’d be a luxury sign at this point. No need to cuz a youngin to bring on Brooks.

I mean if they Giants never signed Boley Id be yelling and screaming at them to sign Brooks, but there is no need at all.

What has Wilkinson done?

I’d approve of the the signing of brooks.. but i don’t know how he can rush the passer.

they've done nothing

but can you honeslty see the Giants signing Brooks with their emphasis on their young players?

Brooks is obviously better than their LB’s, but I don’t think he fits.

haha yea im with Hoyadestroya

Wilkinson, Sintim, Keihl? Derrik Brooks is PROVEN. Bring him in and start him, Sintim damn sure isnt ready and im sorry Wilkinson and Keihl should not be a starter with our defense, no way no how. Derrick Broosk is a beast, plus have u forgotten Boley is injured, who knows how long till he recovers.

Derrick Brooks to replace that loser Antonio Pierce

Antonio Pierce Sucks. He never makes any big plays. All he has is a big mouth.

Lopez wants it away, and it's hit deep to left center, Andruw Jones on the run, this one has a chance... home run!!, Mike Piazza!, and the Mets lead 3 to 2!!

Brooks

i would love to have this guy but we do have alot of depth and youth so not sure its a need at all, especially when blackburn played he showed he could and had a nose for the football, thats pure smarts he brings to the table no one on this website even has in their post… and as far as Pierce sucking?? Why cause westbrook made him a highlight real everytime they line up? First off no MLB in the the league can cover that guy in the flat, you have to spy him with a lineman and have Pierce over the top…

Plus with the hiding plax gun and being out of shape, Pierce at the very least deserve this season to prove he can be the player he was when Strahan was there and i think he can with Osi back and the young guys having played now he gets this year before i label he fat old and slow, but he is pushing his luck.. just remember that guy is the heart and soul of our defense as far as his mouth and leader ship, tuck is next in line for that role but he needs to speak up and get rid of the quiet show you on the field approach before that happens…

Our team is fine but when you face TE’s and RB’s that got speed its impossible for any LBs to be responsible for them we need over the top safety help and a guy on the DL spying in the back field, i think those plays take advantage of our over pursuing of KILL the QB philosophy.. either way i wouldnt be mad at that signing

Yea Def Not

Pierce is our leader, like it or not hes that guy. Not always is that guy the best player on the field, but AP is sick. How many times u see him read QB audibles at the line…he makes alot of adjustments before the snap, gets guys in the right spot. He may be an idiot, but AP is a huge part of our team, not to mention Brooks isnt a MLB ne way haha. But yea keep AP right where hes at, with Osi back, Tuck out beast DTs and Boley and whoever AP will have a great year.

SIGN BROOKS ASAP..Gmen have always done well with veteran D players..Brooks is a great locker room presence… and could spell AP and slide in to the other LB spot while the Boley situation plays out…I would also go out and sign Marvin Harrison or Tori Holt as insurance at WR…vets like Madison and OJ Anderson ..Everson Walls all contributed to our SB victories and to add a vet like Brooks would do nothing but help in our drive for number 4..
