New York Giants running back Andre Brown, left, runs past safety Sha'reff Rashad during rookie mini-camp.

(From the Giants) -- Running back Andre Brown, the fourth-round selection from North Carolina State, today became the sixth 2009 draft choice – and the second in two days – to sign with the Giants. The other draft picks who have signed their contracts are the team’s two third-round picks, wide receiver Ramses Barden and tight end Travis Beckum, quarterback Rhett Bomar (fifth round) and cornerbacks DeAndre Wright a (sixth) and Stoney Woodson (seventh).

The only unsigned draft choices are wide receiver Hakeem Nicks, the first-round selection from North Carolina, and second-round picks Clint Sintim and William Beatty.

To clear space on the roster for Brown, the Giants waived rookie Alex Derenthal, a free agent from Temple.

Draft Picks on 2009 Team

Do you think all of these picks will stick on the roster or Practice Squad? Will any be outright cut? It seems that in recent years, just about everyone makes the team

Draft picks

No way 9 picks make this team. Jerry Reese has admitted as much.

Great to see..

I’m happy they’re all getting into the fold. Let’s them focus on working out and learning the playbook instead of going back and forth with their agent about escalator clauses and performance bonuses.

To answer celerino, I think one of those last two DB’s won’t make it and think Bomar will wind up taking Andre Woodson’s roster spot. Wouldn’t surprise me if one or both those DB’s and Bomar wind up on the practice squad. The rest I think the Giants have plans for this year and barring something unforeseen, I think the rest will be there.
