Shockey apparently OK after collapse

Jeremy Shockey, the former Giants' tight end, is apparently OK after collapsing at a party Sunday.

From the New York Post.

Former Giants tight end Jeremy Shockey keeled over at a Las Vegas party Sunday and was carted off to a hospital, it was reported Sunday night.

Greg Bensel, a spokesman for the New Orleans Saints, Shockey's current team, told The Post that Shockey is "fine" and was suffering from dehydration.

Bensel didn't know if Shockey would be kept overnight at the hospital, or if he was treated and then released.

According to a report by the entertainment Web site TMZ, Shockey was found unconscious at around 2 p.m. at the Hard Rock Hotel and was carried out on a stretcher.

I think the correct label is "celebutard" ...

and I agree with the assessment. I know I always help my friends leave a drinking establishment at 2:00 a.m. when they are “fine” but just a little “dehydrated” via a … “stretcher” … Personally, I’d be surprised if he was “only drinking” to get into such serious shape. Hope he’s O.K. (and maybe finally getting a wake-up call), but glad he’s gone.

And my guess is that JR will look pretty good in a few years having achieved “addition by subtraction” immediately with the trade, plus what Clint Sintim and Rhett Bomar develop into.

Dehydration is no joke

especially when you are drinking like Shockey probably was. This is why, at least when I have a nice little binge drink, you have to keep some H2O nearby.

You can go into a coma from dehydration, seizures, all types of good stuff. That he was unconscious tells me that it was pretty serious.

Hope Shock is OK. Still wish he would have changed his ways cuz the guy to me still is a dynamic receiver as a TE. Love Bossman, but Shockey still is one of my favorite Giants of all time.

My buddy is at a bachelor party in Vegas, and said he saw him at a club the other night. I was going to see if there were Saint’s OTA’s this weekend and come on here and make a joke, but apparently there was no need.

I’m still going to laugh, they can say dehydration, but he drank himself stupid and passed out.
