The Catch
That behind the back catch against West Virginia may be the sickest catch I’ve seen in my life. Overall, I think a strong choice.
All I know is he better not
get a quad injury during mini camp and training camp and miss a ton of time!
He was
212 a week ago in his private workout, reportedly.

That's good
but if he was 210 during the season, 240 after the combine and then 212 in a workout….
LOL, who the hell cares he’s a WR he’ll be working hard enough now…

Unlike my opinion of the Moreno video earlier this week...
This video showed me that the kid has special skills and has very good eye-hand coordination. It sure makes me feel alot better about JR’s choice. I hope we all get to see alot more of those incredible kinda catches!!!
to be fair
West Virginia wasn’t exactly the 2nd coming of the Steel Curtain. But Nicks does look good…also, to put Eli into perspective, did you notice how many of those throws took Nicks completely out of his stride? That QB wasn’t too great, and Nicks made him look real good. I liked how he was able to slow up and let the ball get to him and then hit the jets when he caught it
Good point, cj
Eli gets the ball there most of the time, but often it isn’t in the perfect position. You have to be able to make adjustments and use your hands and athleticism.

to be fair?
Who ever said anything about having to be fair?
Seriously, I don’t think he’ll be faking corners out of their cleats in the NFL like he was WV, but the fact that he has the concentration to grab those ackward throws and keep his momentum was nice to watch. If he can perform like that in camp, I wonder how that’s gonna shake up the WR lineup for us? Hixon back to being a return man? The end of the road for Moss?? Tyree solely for SP? Should be fun to watch that develop.
Tyree
I think we should just have him stand outside Giants Stadium with a football pressed to his head, and cover him in bronze (like the girl from Goldfinger, just bronze instead of gold) – that seems to be the most useful thing we can do with him at this point, since we’re running out of WR slots.
GOODBYE Mr. CJ!!!
Thanks for the laugh!!
He was our best ST player, so I don’t know if that saves his ass come cut time. I’d sure like to have that card in my hand if I was MOSS and their cutting WRs!!
Moss
I think he’s as good as gone. I actually would like to keep Tyree as a ST player, but I just don’t know if there will be any slots open for him. I know it’s pretty crazy, but he’s so good at getting to the ball on ST plays, I wonder if he could be converted to a safety…
Tyree converted to safety...???
I THINK you’re gonna have to run this one by G57!!!
I am not real big on playing out there in left field!!!
Personally; I’d stick with the bronzed helmet guy concept
before I went around tellin people about this brainstrom!!!!! :-)
Love how he was compared to Michael Irvin not too long ago
but now that he drops to the end of the first round there’s no talk of that.
If he’s anywhere close to Irvin the Gints got a steal.
What I like is his potential for YAC
He doesn’t cower after he receives the ball, even when he is in traffic. Also he has Belitnikoff type hands. Since I live in ACC country I have had an opportunity to see him play. He has had the benefit of playing for a great coach like Butch Davis.
He strikes me as the kind of receiver that could be electrifying his very first game in the NFL.

I’m not knockin the kid, but he’s gonna get de-cleated coming across the middle and have one of those wtf truck just hit me / “welcome to the NFL son” kinda moments?? I hope he can produce for us like he did in college without a big dropoff. All receivers go thru it when they come to play with the men after playing with the boys in college. I’ll be looking forward to see how he adjusts.
