Drafted for the Giants
Hey Giants fans its MasterRWayne here. I help run the Stampedeblue site for the Indianapolis Colts. We had our mock draft over there and I picked for the Giants. We did rounds 1-2 and here is who I got...
1. Eben Britton-OT
2. Kenny Britt-WR
3. Asher Allen-CB
I felt that I got good value in my picks and I also addressed need areas for the G-Men. What do you guys think?

I don't like it
You are better off picking for the Colts.

I like
Getting Britton in round 1 is a very good move. I like Kenny Britt more in round 2, tho if they got him in round 1 Id have no problem with that either.
Asher Allen is a good player and really going to be a solid CB for a while, so good pick there.
Overall I like, tho If everything was up to me Id rather see Asher in round 3, then Jared Cook in round 2. Just a nice weapon to have on a team that could use a few.

Cook
Jared Cook went one pick ahead of me to the Panthers, but its funny that you mention that because I was completely torn between Cook and Allen. In my book Allen gets the edge because he also helps out with returns. Besides between Steve Smith, Manningham, Hixon, Kevin Boss and Kenny Britt that is a lot of young weapons for Manning to work with.

True
if Cook is off the board then Id have no problem with Asher.
Tho the TE position this year is just too deep and talented for the giants to pass on one of these guys. Yea, they have Boss and I guess Darcy Johnson and Matthews are ok, but to get a guy like Cook, or Shawn Nelson, Or Ingram, Or Beckum, Or that TE from Rice…
There’s just a ton of complementary TE’s in the draft that can be great weapons. Id assume you know what having multiple receiving TE’s did for Eli’s big brother? Didn’t the draft Dallas Clark before they won the Bowl and paired him with Marcus Pollard??

Yes they did...
But ever since Pollard left they like pairing Clark with a bigger and better blocking TE. That way when they go 2 TE set they can run to the side of the other TE. We had Ben Utecht for several years and he was big and slow, but could block well. Now we have Gijon Robinson who is just a shorter, broader version of Utecht.
But seriously I really like Jared Cook. If the Panthers hadn’t of taken him it would have been a very close call between him and Allen.

THat is where on this board
and with fellow giants fans I get a bit of flak cuz they think that Boss should be left alone to start on his own.
Boss is a very good blocker, the Giants run to his side most of the time. And as many know the guy is a good receiver too.
But I want the Giants to get a guy like Dallas clark. Guys like Cook and Nelson are much more athletic than Dallas Clark. Cook and Nelson ran a 4.5 and they are 6"5 245+ each. All the talk of getting a big WR, and these 2 are much bigger than any WR in the draft, and as fast as many of them.
