Brandon Marshall?
I've heard some rumors that Marshall may want out of Denver as well because, let's face it, who wants to go from Cutler to Orton. This is pure speculation, but I would prefer Marshall over Edwards, Boldin, or Ocho-Cinco. I would consider him a cross between Edwards and Boldin. He has the youth, height and speed of Edwards and the route-running, hands and toughness to break tackles of Boldin (not necessarily to the degree of these players but you get the point).
No matter who JR goes after (I think it's a no-brainer that he makes a trade for a premier WR), I was thinking about the possibilities of the team after a trade and the draft. I find it doubtful JR would give up more than a 1st and 2nd/1st and 3rd/1st and two 3rd's or something of that nature. I may be dreaming but, hypothetically, JR trades the 29th pick and the 60th pick for Brandon Marshall and leaves the NYG with the 45th pick, 91st and 100th pick. Figure that Kenny Britt, Percy Harvin, Hakeem Nicks, or Brian Robiskie hangs around till 45 and JR grabs one, perferably Harvin if we get Marshall. Then, JR could take some LB/OL/DB/TE depth with the 91st and 100th pick and the rest of the draft.
For me, this would be the ideal draft for the Giants.
29- Brandon Marshall trade
45- Percy Harvin, WR/RB, Florida
60- Brandon Marshall trade
91- Tyron McKenzie, OLB, USF
100- Xavier Fulton, OT, Illinois
129- Cornelius Ingram, TE, Florida
Pure speculation, but since the consensus is that JR will go out and get a premier WR, I want to know what everyone thinks the draft will look like after?

I wouldn't mind Marshall
he’s real good, but I don’t like the idea of Harvin. Not that I don’t think he can be useful in the right system, but he’d be wasted in a traditional offense like the Giants run.
Marshall YES, Harvin NO
I would love for the Giants to grab Marshall – don’t think it will ever happen, but we can dream. As for Harvin, I really don’t think he’ll be available come #45 even though he should be and even if he was I really hope they don’t take him. I’m not a big Harvin fan (as you can probably tell) and don’t think he’ll do well for most teams in the NFL.
However, there’s a good debate you have brought up…
Let’s assume (for argument sake) that you could get Marshall or Edwards for the same price… Who do you take?
Very difficult choice--but Marshall
Edwards is a fantastic player and has huge upside, but Marshall is the choice for me. They are both similar body type with the advantage going to Marshall, and both have been know to struggle with consistency and drops, but Marshall was the most targeted WR the last 2 seasons and was catching passes from laser-arm Jay Cutler, so I’ll give the 25 year old the benefit of the doubt.
Either one is an upgrade, and I’d lean towards Edwards if he costs less than Marshall.
For the Harvin-Haters (just kidding), I know the Giants run a traditional offense and maybe I am being unrealistic here but maybe seeing a player of Harvin’s caliber will inspire Kevin Killdrive to change his predictable ways and use Harvin to spread the field?
Take out Pery Harvin and Ingram
and make the 2nd rounder either Jared Cook or Shawn Nelson.
Marshall is much better than even Burress in that Marhsall has legitimate deep speed.
I’ve been hearing tho that he really isn’t available, but Edwards is gonna end up with the Giants.
Id much rather have Marshall even if it meant a bit of a steeper price. Marshall is a true elite receiver and I think would outshine Burress.

TE in 2nd Round
I was thinking about taking a TE there instead of Harvin, but I guess I’m alone on thinking Harvin would add a new dimension to our offense.
Also, according to Yahoo, Edwards will be coming to the Giants before the draft.
NO!
Marshall is an idiot.. we already got rid of one dumb receiver.. why take another
It's not easy being Giants fan in Philly.. but it sure is satisfying

TO is just a crappy teammate
Brandon Marshall is a criminal

i wouldnt mind
brandon marshall! i would prefer we keep our picks. maybe try to get in the top 5. get crabtree, and pick up torry holt. torry will help this young man become a true professional. but i like braylon edwards too. GIANTS 2009!!!!
No way
Chad Ocho Cinco and Brylon Edwards might be divas, and Boldin might not of handled his contract situation perfectly, but none of them have any legal troubles. Marshall is the reincarnation of Plaxico, an extremely talented WR who’s play is enigmatic and can’t stay out of trouble. Bad idea. Broncos had to suspend him last year and I’m sure it would be more of the same under Coughlin.
No Way
Brandon marshall is a trouble maker, the guy has been suspended a couple times already and with the Giants cutting Plax why would they want to pick up another troubled player. Percy Harvin is a solid player but not in the Giants system

Hmmm.....
One quick thought, where did anyone see he was unhappy in Denver? I’d never heard that before.
He is a stud, but this rap sheet would be enough to give the Giants front office some pause:
According to Orlando-Orange County public records (case 48-2004-MM-012392-O), on Halloween 2004, while a student at UCF, Marshall was arrested in Orlando on charges of assault on a law enforcement officer, refusal to obey, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer.39
On January 1, 2007, Marshall was present at “The Shelter,” a nightclub in LoDo, Denver, Colorado, along with teammates Javon Walker and Darrent Williams. The trio was attending a birthday party held for and by Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin. As the players were leaving the club in a limousine, Williams was fatally shot in the neck after an unknown assailant opened fire on the vehicle. Willie Clark was later charged with the murder.40 Walker has stated in interviews that the shooter was likely a nightclub patron whose motive was retaliation after being involved in an altercation with Marshall’s cousin earlier that night.41
On March 26, 2007, Marshall was arrested in the Highlands Ranch suburb of Denver on suspicion of domestic violence after his girlfriend reported that following a domestic dispute, Marshall prevented a taxi she was in from leaving his house.42 Charges from the incident were later dismissed on May 25, 2007, after Marshall completed anger management counseling.43
In the early morning of October 22, 2007, Marshall was arrested in the Denver-Aurora metropolitan area at the intersection of 14th and Blake St. for driving under the influence of alcohol.44 A trial was scheduled for September 16, but Marshall instead agreed to a plea bargain four days earlier; he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of driving while ability impaired.45 He was sentenced to one-year probation and 24 hours of community service.
On June 12, 2008, Marshall was ticketed for an illegal lane change, then found to be without his license and proof of insurance.46 The case was eventually dropped as part of a plea bargain for the October 22, 2007 driving incident involving alcohol.45
According to an article published in the Rocky Mountain News on July 28, 2008, Douglas County deputies fielded “about 11” calls to Marshall’s home since January 2006. The article stated that one one call resulted in Marshall being arrested (the March 26, 2007 domestic dispute), and some did not involve him at all.47
A September 17, 2008 article on CompleteColorado.com stated that the solicitor’s office in Fulton County, Georgia filed misdemeanor battery charges on September 10 for an alleged incident on March 4, 2008, in Atlanta, Georgia. Marshall was booked on March 6, then released the next day after posting a $1,000 cash bond.48
The case was assigned to Judge John Mather in Georgia state court. An email from Judge Mather’s office to CompleteColorado.com indicated that no court date had been set, but that the date would likely be in November or December.49
On March 1, 2009, Marshall was arrested in Atlanta for disorderly conduct after allegedly being involved in a fight with his fiancee, Michi Nogami-Campbell. Marshall was released on a $300 bond.50 The charges were dropped the following day.51 He may still be disciplined by the NFL for repeated violations of the NFL’s personal-conduct policy.52
What if??
I’m thinking go forward with the trade for Edwards and then snag Holt or Marvin Harrison for the league min. seeing no other teams are hot after those two. Then we can draft best available left (TE,LB,OT etc…)
