Follow the Rules of the Road
I had to ban a well-known member of this community today after an unfortunate exchange that took place this weekend. A reminder to both our new, and old, members about the way things are done here.
Below are the Rules of the Road in this community.
This site is a site for intelligent discussion about the New York Giants and football in general. Keep it civil. We're all friends here.
Act like an idiot or attack people personally and you won't be welcome here. Cause trouble on someone else's site, I won't defend you. Excessive profanity is also not permitted. In fact, I would prefer none at all.
In other words, be a grown-up.
Yes, I am a curmudgeon when it comes to this stuff. As this site grows, and it is growing quickly since our partnership with Yahoo! Sports, I will not allow it to degenerate into a sophomoric board where members hurl stupid, sophomoric insults at each other.
Keep it friendly -- and keep it mature. We are all on the same side here.

Keep up the good work
I’m a relative newcomer to this blog site, and I have to say I do appreciate the tone of civility with which the site is run, so you should be proud to be a curmudgeon.

It's still okay...
to start political flamewars, right?
Kidding of course… unless you dare question the merits Teddy Roosevelt’s agenda. The one he created his first full term in office, obviously… not during the rest of McKinley’s term, we all know that was a disaster!

I am a new member, just started reading the site about a week ago. I am relieved to see that i dont have to put up with the bickering and personal attacks here. A welcomed change. Cant wait to get the draft stuff going! I am hoping for Nick or Cushing, or if both are gone, maybe a good OT, so he could learn, then replace Diehl at LT move Diehl to RT and let McKenzie go.

You made the right call.

It had to be bad for someone to get banned.
Don’t know what was said but good job ed keeping this blog clean.

Ed
you didn’t ban ’57 for his insistence on switching to the 3-4 did you? Fascist…
j/k (I hope). I was away most of the weekend so I must have missed what happened, and I’m assuming you took the offending post(s) down, because the most contentious thing on here is the little debate over the 3-4 and Gilbride’s abilities as an OC, which is very civil and well-reasoned on both sides. That’s what I love about this blog, so I’m glad you’re keeping the real bad eggs out. Keep up the good work!

'57 is stubborn
when it comes to the 3-4, but civilized. Shoot, the Giants won 2 Super Bowls playing the 3-4. It’s a great defense. The Giants just have no reason to change. And yes, I took down the offending posts.

I'm there with you CJ
I was gone all weekend and missed the hupla. Anyway, thanks Ed for keeping the site clean!

is this all because he called me dork?
Thanks Ed!

No, no ...
That was the least of his sins. If you saw some of the e-mails the guy has sent me in the past couple of days you wouldn’t want anything to do with him, either.

Agreed
I have not posted lately since that lost to the iggles, but I check this page everyday a few times a day. and I’ve been a member for a year and a half (I think) and I never been to blog as good as this. Everybody helps each other out, everybody is friendly. Thanks Ed.

Luckily for you
I am not a Georgetown fan, either. I’m a Maryland grad, so that’s not possible.

Fear the turtle.
I’m glad that you run a tight ship. The topics and banter are great. It’s good to see people agree and disagree in a civil, adult manner. Go Tarheels.

Oh, man
Can’t be having any Tarheel love on this site. Unless, of course, we draft Hakeem Nicks!! LOL!!
by Ed Valentine on Mar 10, 2009 3:21 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I'm all for that.
And don’t forget that the greatest (IMO) Giant of all time is a Tarheel.

I liked Tito Wooten too, but I don’t think I’d call him the “greatest Giant of all time”

That,s funny but the GGOAT would have to go to LT of UNC.
by njgiant on Mar 11, 2009 8:43 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
haha I know
I was just joking around. It was surprisingly tough to find another Giant from UNC who either a) played after the 50’s, and b) played more than 10 games.
