Presenting Blueshirt Banter-Warning: Shameless plug alert
As most of you guys know, I am a diehard New York Ranger fan. When SBNation began sponsoring hockey blogs last year, I immediately threw my hat in the ring to run the Rangers site. If there is one thing I learned rooting for a hockey team that went 54 years between Stanley Cup Championships, its that good things come to those who wait.
So it is with great pleasure that I announce that beginning today, SBNation launches Blueshirt Banter, a blog about the Rangers hosted by yours truly. I'm really excited about the opportunity, Ranger fans are as passionate as Giants fans, and I expect running the site to be a great experience.
I'll still be co-writing here on Big Blue View. The Giants and Rangers are the two sports loves of my life, so the way I look at it is I've got the two best hobbies a guy could ask for, although at some point I still want to go fishing.
On that note, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ed, because if he didn't offer me the chance to co-write on Big Blue View, I would never have gotten a shot at hosting my own site. So thank you Ed, I am going to follow the example you've set for having a great team blog.
I would also like to thank all of you, the readers, because if you weren't enjoying what I write, Ed would have fired me and brought in shenkthetank.
So make sure and stop by Blueshirt Banter and say hi.
By the way, my son Jimmy came up with the concept for that snazzy logo you see up there.
Thanks again everyone,
Jim

Grats
And +1 for the logo.
I only liked hockey when I was in College, it was the only sport my school was good at, and had any pride in.
Congrats, Jim
Great logo
Hope the Rangers will some day come up with players who can produce a latter day GAG line.

What skaters those two Frenchmen were.
After years of work, Emile Francis put together a team of fantastically gifted skaters and puck handlers, and Freddie Shero comes along with the Broad Street Bullies and keeps the Rangers from getting the Cup. In an earlier post I said guys like Gilbert and Ratelle might be too small to play today. What do you think? I believe they both had back injuries in the Juniors. Gilbert did for sure and later had spinal fusion surgery. It’s a wonder they made it to the NHL. Small, yes, but tough as nails.
They both underwent major back surgery early in their careers
I think Ratelle could have played in todays game, Gilbert may have been too small to make the impact he did then.
Ratelle scored 109 points in 1972, even though he missed 15 games. He lost the scoring title that year to Espo, of all people.

Espo was huge for those days.
He’d plant himself in front of the net and no one could move him.
yup!! "Tony the Hanger"
yes he could skate. Yes he could stick handle if needed;
but how many goals were of the “garbage” variety??
(Not a Bruins fan here!!)
p.s. BEST OF LUCK JRS!!!!
I am sure you’ll do an outstanding job there too!
Thanks for your efforts here!!!!
good luck with your site
bad luck to the Rangers.
