Giants Notebook 3.18.09
A few Giants notes to get you thru the day:
- Mike Garafolo is reporting Giants CB Corey Webster has restructured his contract. From what I understand, it frees up $3M in cap space.
- Clark Judge at CBS Sports takes a look at the Giants needs.
- Over at the Daily News, Ralph Vacchiano brings us some early draft talk.
- Tom Rock over at Newsday says Eli thinks Mario Manningham may be the answer.
- I didn't see this anywhere locally, had to go all the way to Canada to find it, but the Giants and Jets are being sued over PSL's.
- Finally, Ernie Palladino is back!

Hate to lose Dahl
It looks like Spags likes him as much as I.
Ed, you mentioned a while back the controversy about Plax between TC and the front office/some of the players. Ugly situation. How do you shove a player down a coach’s throat? Hope it can be resoved to everybody’s satisfaction.
Manningham as #1? That’s a surprise. Hope it’s a possibility.
Good to see EP back.
Webster
What a turnaround for him … inconsistent & benched to a shut down corner & doing what’s right for the team. You gotta love the guy.
Manningham?
Whenever looking at what the Giants are doing this offseason, everyone always points to the WR position. They obvioulsy aren’t set, but while Hixon got his shot and didn’t show much aside from dropped passes and slow route running, guys like Manningham and even Sinorice Moss have still not gotten a shot because of Plax and Toomer.
They may draft a WR, or hoepfully a guy like Shawn Nelson or Jared Cook who are WR/TE tweeners that would be nice, but they may have some good WR already on the roster. THe guys who they can draft might not be any better anyway.
