Rosenhaus shopping Burress via e-mail

Like this situation wasn't bad enough already, now it just gets a bit more complicated. He is such a pain, I wonder how teams can stand to even speak to this ass when it comes time to discuss contracts. It sort of reminds me of Sean Avery in the NHL, I wonder when the league or at least certain teams will say enough, and no longer deal with him.

I saw this too

I’ve always been on the side that thought the Giants will keep the door open for Burress to return, but if his agent is trying to get him out of NY then why would the Giants fight it?

And yes I definitely agree that Rosenhaus is scum. Maybe not to the level of Boras, but scum nonetheless.

they're both scum

but as much as I hate Boras, he’s just trying to get his clients as much money as possible. I don’t think I even know what he looks like. Rosenhaus is a sleazebag and a media whore, who should just shut up and go away.

Yeah the Giants realize that even with all the problems he causes… they truly do need him for the offense to work. If he’s not dominating cornerbacks in single coverage, hes getting doubled covered leaving another wide out open… which is what made the passing game such a threat before all this happened.

At heart I believe that the Giants will re-sign him…

So drew rosenhaus can dish out his other problematic receivers like T.O. and “ocho-cinco”
But plaxico i think is here to stay

id rather have rosehaus and boras out there

then to go back to the days of players as indentured servants. the players are just looking out for themselves, as any of us would do in the same situation. rosenhaus just wants plax to be treated fairly, which im sure he will and be back with the g men next season to dominate.

that's a good point

when you look at what LT made with his first contract of the free agency era, it’s ridiculous how little that is for one of the best players of all time. And this is a guy who played in the modern era, he wasn’t playing with a leather helmet. And think he made even less then that before free agency

indentured servant

implies that they were forced to play a kids game for a living. I hate equating professional athletes with people who faced real hardship. In the old days, players picked up second jobs during the offseason, and if they didn’t like it, guess what? They were allowed to quit playing a sport and take that off-season job full-time. They played for the love and glory of the game, not for money.

its just an expression

i know its hyperbole. i still prefer players being compensated the way they are then when they were paid in the past. it attracts better athletes and makes for a more entertaining game. when i want to watch football with people that are only playing for love or glory i watch the local high school or DIII teams, not the g-men.
