A-11 Offense faces potential ban

It is only around because a loophole in a HS level rule.  But why stifle innovation to the game?

I think they should alter the rules to say if everyone on the field is eligible then you need to be set to start the play by a certain time on the play clock, otherwise it is a delay of game.

I think that would even the playing field.  I'm all for trying to evolve the game.

i don't know..

this is somewhat ridiculous. Football is just fine the way it is.. if they keep trying to change it, then we won’t recognize the game anymore

It's not easy being Giants fan in Philly.. but it sure is satisfying

Well

It’s changed a lot since the 20’s. People from then wouldn’t recognize the current iteration.

i know that

but this is sidestepping the rules, more than it is innovation.. if your team is too small and too slow.. play the option..

I've seen this formation before, and I love it.

I would have to agree. Playing high school football last year, the majority of the teams I saw were all full of option and wing back formations, with the same 3-4 yard rush every play. But after looking at this offense I love the creativity and the innovation that it brings to the game. Maybe the A-11 might not be the answer to coaches finding a new offense, but I’m sure it can spark some ideas for some formations off of it

people were saying that same thing about the forward pass

yes

but that was a legitimate rule change.. this is exploitation of a loophole that should be closed… If you wanna be innovative, develop new ways to use your existing formations.. rather than an offense where everyone is eligible.. it’s absurd.. like i said earlier, if they wanna level the playing field they should run the option or single wing…

That sounds like organized chaos

And isn’t that at least in part why people love football?
