Roger Goodell is a joke

It is completely gutless and absolutely asinine that Flozell Adams did not get suspended specifically for his dirty drive-by on Tuck and collectively for what he did during the first three weeks of the season. Let's recap shall we?

Week 2 - Trip's Tuck and causes injury to his shoulder, DIRECTLY impacting our season. Draws a 15 yard penalt and $7500 fine.

Week 2- Trips Osi and draws 15 yard penalty and $7500 fine.

Week 3 - Pulls the same leg whip crap on Julius Peppers. Again draws a 15 yard penalty and lame $7500 fine.

But wait!! The commish gets tough!

"Flozell, if you have any further transgressions (Tiger Woods plug) you will be heavily fined and suspended."

Fast forward to Week 13 - Flozell walks right up to Tuck and pushes him in the back and then like the large turd that he is, runs away!! All caught on camera, mind you. Result?? LAME FINE AND NO SUSPENSION!

Hmm..... Could it be because the league doesn't want to take away a "key" player during the Dallas playoff push? But no, there's no preferential treatment going on in the league!!

LETS GO CHARGERS!

I second that

Before this season, I hated them. Oddly enough, I started to like them after they beat us. Their fans are really classy (Its san diego, who would have thought?), and Phillip Rivers, well he’s one cool guy.

Eli’s better, but I’d have no problem with San Diego going far.

Never assume skill at bouncing a ball makes you smarter than the guy who built the court.

kind of off topic...

but I never understand people who hate Eli for not going to San Diego.

Why is it always, he’s an ‘entitled rich kid" sort of argument…instead of a "I don’t want to sit behind Drew Brees…or make a situation out of Drew Brees being the starter" sort of thing?

Kind of stupid to look at it other than that way. Maybe Eli was just respecting Brees?

maybe

except Archie was pretty explicit about wanting Eli to play in a big market like NY, IIRC

I guess so.

yet, he couldn’t have gone by too much knowledge of it…Peyton makes a good name for himself in Indiana doesn’t he?

"It ain't over till its over"---

by FreeBradshaw on Dec 8, 2009 10:32 PM EST up reply actions

Not really

Peyton doesn’t exactly play in a big market.

by DoctorK16 on Dec 13, 2009 8:19 PM EST up reply actions

No idea

didn’t follow sports too much so all I here is stuff with spin on it from retrospect.

Could be, could not be. It worked out for both teams, so I’m not complaining. A lot of the san diego fans don’t think Phillips could survive with the NY media, so maybe Rivers dodged the bullet there.

Eli had no gripes about pushing Collins out the door, and believe it or not he was more accomplished at the time than Brees, who was then just a middling QB.

No, I think the real reason Manning didn’t want to go to SD is he didn’t want to get sucked into the black-hole that is Tomlinson’s vagina. Either that or the fact that SD had been an abysmal franchise for some time before their revival in 2004.

by XLII on Dec 8, 2009 11:09 PM EST up reply actions

My point is

Brees was a young QB…obviously one with upside….

He would have to compete with him, vs. Kerry Collins everyone knew was the reason they were drafting Eli in the first place.

He seems like the type that wouldn’t want to go and compete and take someone like Brees’ job.

San Diego

had a history of discord and drama in the front office and Archie lived thorough that in NO and didn’t want it for his son. I can’t hate it.

I'd like to know what Ocho Cinco gets fined too.

So its not OK to wear a poncho after a TD…..but its OK to push a dude, a completely gutless, non-football move, right after a missed FG before halftime?

OK Roger

Early reports

30k.

Which is a FUCKING joke.

I’m going to wait until tomorrow with official reports, but if its true, Goodell sucks. The big ones.

wow just wow

ocho gets fined 30,000 for a td celebration
and flozell gets fined under 10,000 when he intends to injure a player not to mention that this time the play was dead and he has a history with Tuck
Obvioisly fines do not have an effect on flozell
Suspend him to show him a message, he obviously does not give a whether he gets a fined, but if he cant play in a key game vs San Diego then he will learned.
Hopefully, he at least gets fined for a decent amount

by feaglesmvp on Dec 8, 2009 9:54 PM EST up reply actions

What's the message?

I’m sorry but when game checks are in the hundreds of thousands, being fined under 10k and even 50k amounts to a one finger salute to these guys. They spend more than that in a night at a club.

What we need to do is implement policy where if a player misses x number of games because of dirty crap, then the offending player also misses x number of games. This lame fine crap is not much of a deterrence.

Second, Wade “the cupcake” Phillips, jawing about Eli signing a freakin’ wall, says “we always respect the other team”. Really, coach cupcake (lower case intentional)? So, when you asked Fat-zell what happened and he told you, did you discipline him? Or did you have to get permission from Skeletor Jones?

Here’s to you Dall-ass and you choking again this month!! ::Clink::

Bud Adams gets fined 250k for flipping double birds… To go from a 50k to a 250k fine, I would think Adams damn near killed someone.

by lboogie25 on Dec 9, 2009 6:56 AM EST up reply actions

Owners have a different level of responsiblity

to protect the brand. It cost Chad 30K to wear a pauncho after a TD and only 50K for Flozell to nearly insite a major brawl.

by DoctorK16 on Dec 9, 2009 8:58 AM EST up reply actions

Bud Adams is a billionare tho.

250K for him is like 2500 to someone like Flozell.

It was a slap on the wrist.

Wade Phillips is an ass

He disrespects the other team every time he has a celebration on the sidelines when a kicker misses a field goal. Have you seen him do this? He is fist-pumping and screaming like they just won a playoff game on the final play. I’m not talking about celebrating because someone got in there and blocked the kick…that WOULD be something to get excited about, but someone missing a field goal wide right (remember that one, ah, good times…good times) when your team had nothing to do with it in the middle of the 2nd quarter IS disrespectful. I always love to see his reaction after HIS kicker misses a field goal…serves his fat ass right!!!

by DavidE on Dec 9, 2009 10:50 AM EST up reply actions

Actually with every opponent's missed FGs

or Cowbows TD, Wade is celebrating because he gets another week to keep his job. He’s a complete clown as a coach.

by njgiant on Dec 9, 2009 1:16 PM EST up reply actions

I'm with you on this one

There is no reason he shouldn’t of been suspended. If the league is throwing out fake threats.. there will be no end and other a-holes will try an get away with the same thing, know they’ll only get a fine after 4 intentional unsportsman-like penalties.

If one of our players gets injuried on Sunday because of him, I will be livid.
