Around SBN: Jim Irsay: We Can Make It Work With Peyton Manning

Giants have signed TE Bear Pascoe from their practice squad, and signed DT Jeremy Clark to the practice squad.

There aren't many better names in football than "Bear Pascoe", sounds like the name of the leader of a motorcycle gang

I guess another TE is a good move

with the winter and swirly winds coming we will need to use more tight end sets but I’d rather have BECKUM in there instead of someone named “Bear Pascoe”

I'm actually glad we got Clark back...

i liked him more than Douzable during pre season but i think Douzable got the nod b/c of that play against Car when we won on the last play.

But Clark IMO was a monster in that last pre season game.

Wouldn’t mind seeing what he and alford can do next year in camp. of course, now that alford had knee surgery will he be any good next year? what’s the rule on these knee surgeries? 1 year? sure looks that way from Osi, Barry, and Freddy….

I wonder what the plan is with McKenna....

Are they inactivating Beckum? Darcy? Sheridan?

Since he is on the injury report.

From NFL.com combine report
Analysis
Strengths: Good frame for the position. Good bulk and overall strength as a blocker. Uses his hands and leverage well as a blocker and provides as much effort as a blocker as he does as a receiver. Puts smaller defenders on their back and plays through the whistle. Able to reach linebackers at the second level. Former quarterback who understands where the holes are on the defense. Solid route-running in the short to intermediate zones. Uses his body to shield defenders. Natural hands catcher who can who fight for the ball and can track over his shoulder. Bullish runner who fights for extra yardage.

Anyones guess is as good as mine, why they signed him? More multiple TE sets? I have no clue what this means? lol

I hope multiple TE sets.

I think the Giants miss their former TE (/OT) Mike Matthews a lot.

McKenna Pascoe aka Bear is not as big as Matthews, but I think Darcey Johnson is not doing as good a job at blocking.

maybe they’re gonna send Boss out on more routes now? Maybe put him in the slot and leave the Bear in to block(….I doubt this.)

If I recall the first game

Most of it was a lot of max protects, or extra coverage and having Manningham and Smith slice up the Cowboys secondary.

I think they want the same idea but to get boss involved too, instead of having boss block.

We’ll see

Trickery by what you see but you don't get?

Quick strikes out of multiple TE sets with Ham and Smith, not to mention Boss, then stroll Nicks out there with 3-wide and run? This could work to perfection in a properly run/pass ratio out of each formation. Besides the deception of playaction, Nicks didn’t even play in the first game. It’s making me wonder even more now?! Hmmm

its funny cuz all you hear about is Miles Austin 'emerging'

(tearing up those vaunted KC, SEA, ATL and OAK defenses too!).

Yet, no love for The Dream?

Ok….we’ll see.

No love for Smith at all

If Steve doesn’t make the probowl, that’s just an injustice.

If our Steve Smith doesn’t make the Pro Bowl…someone needs to be beat.
