Giants 45, Redskins 12: Why can't they do that more often?

Now that was fun to watch! Total domination of the Washington Redskins by our New York Giants, who did pretty much what they wanted when they wanted Monday night.

So, the Giants have answered Dallas' victory over previously unbeaten New Orleans Saturday night with an impressive victory of their own.

Maybe, just maybe, the Giants are not done yet. Especially if they can dial up the kind of defensive pressure and intensity they displayed Monday night.

The next couple of weeks promise to be a lot of fun.

Back after I get some sleep with the 'Kudos & Wet Willies.'

Some dude on here predicted a Skins win

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Hopefully next week they will though!

That was me and I'm thrilled to say I was totally wrong

I thougt they would beat the Eagles twice, they lose twice

I thought they would lose to Dallas twice they won twice.

From now on I’m keeping my predictions to myself.

I should know the Giants seem have the Skins number no matter whats going on.

This is Eli’s team, any chance the Giants have right now is resting on his shoulders, he’s in total command out there. Regardless of what happens the rest of the way his play this year should give us a lot hope for 2010.

Total Dominance

That was a hell of a game tonight guys. HUGE win just when we needed one. I hope they can continue to play like that the final two games and get into the playoffs. That’s the Giants team we all know and love.

GO GIANTS!!

Yes, it was

Hopefully, though, the Redskins will show up next week and knock off the Cowboys.

I hope you’re right Ed. I want to enjoy this one for the rest of the week though.

Happy Holidays!

With all the pass-heavy offenses the Giants have been facing all year,

it’ll be interesting to see how they handle Carolina’s run game.

by nygmp42 on Dec 22, 2009 12:14 AM EST reply actions

Go Big Blue!

That was a satisfying game to watch! But I don’t think we can count on Carolina or Minnesota being quite so easy to beat. Hopefully Minnesota will want to rest their starters by the time we play them and Carolina, well Carolina’s always made me nervous ever since they whooped us in the playoffs a couple of years back. That said, it looks like we’re still in the hunt with a couple more weeks of really exciting, edge of your seat football to go :)

Exactly what the doctor ordered.

Defense still worries me,

this was Washington with a bad Oline, but overall a very satisfying win, Eli was solid, receivers caught the ball, good effort from the running game, hope we can keep it up.
p.s.
hope Nicks is ok, I havent heard anything, keeping fingers crossed.

Yea I won't trust the D

until they play well in consecutive weeks and not just against the dregs of the NFL. For some reason Wash cant do anything against us, I don’t know why, Campell looked good the past couple weeks he was throwing the ball downfield but it seems like when he plays the Giants he gets tight or nervous or something and plays like crap.

The O is looking good. Eli is really comming into his own as a QB. Hope Nicks is OK too he’s the man he has the nack for big plays.

by Landeta on Dec 22, 2009 12:53 AM EST up reply actions

D was great last night, but there were still gaps...

…we got victimized at times on some of those blitzes; a team better than the Redskins would have taken advantage of this and made some big plays.

by Step up and make big plays on Dec 22, 2009 6:32 AM EST up reply actions

Whoooo!

1st qt. was the most perfect quarter I have seen the giants play, Ever! Coaches deserve the biggest kudos for identifying the skins weakness’ (which were plenty btw) and calling the game accordingly. Loved that they stayed in man coverage on D and blitzes early and often. And KG called a great game tonight.
I really hope that the skins come out fired up due to this ass-whooping and pummel Romo next week.

It feels so good

I forgot what it was like to see the Gmen play that good. If (that’s a big IF) they continue to play well and win out, we have a pretty good shot at making the playoffs. I think Carolina is coming off a huge win and are in for a let down. They have been up and down all year, so I think we can win next week. Minnesota is the question mark, depending on what they are playing for and depending on how the Giants are playing. But I feel good right now…

Just got home from Fed Ex Field

what an awesome, awesome game. I’ve been to about 8 or 9 Giants games live before (all at Giants Stadium), and I’ve NEVER seen anything like tonight, and that includes the game where they sacked McNabb 13 times. This was just total domination on both sides of the ball. By halftime the stadium was more than half Giants fans, and by the end of the game it was probably 90% Giants fans. It was insane. I’m sure they showed it on TV, but towards the end of the game the Giants players were pumping up the crowd, which I’ve never seen on the road before. I would say I’d almost be afraid of the Redskins next year b/c of the motivation/revenge factor, but this is the Skins we’re talking about, and besides, that didn’t help the Giants much when they played the Eagles.

I’ll post more of my thoughts tomorrow, but wow…what a game.

"[The Giants] beat us down. We were beat by a grown-man team, a team we want to be like one day. They came in here and took it to us. Out-manned us, out-gunned us. ... It wasn't even close." - Raheem Morris, 9/27/09

by cjmulrain on Dec 22, 2009 1:41 AM EST reply actions

Minnesota...

We cannot worry about whether or not they have anything to play for. We need to beat them all the same. From what i can tell, if Denver beats Philly then Minnesota will be locked in, but if Philly beats Denver which is far more likely then Minnesota will have the first round bye to play for. This is because if Philly and Minnesota tie then Philly wins and takes the bye, so if Minnesota is only up by a game going into the final week with us (which is likely as it only requires both them and Philly winning next week) then they would need to either beat us or have Dallas beat Philly. We all know a team will not leave it up to another team if they have the power themselves so they would play hard against us. Soooo my point is that there is a good chance we play the real Vikings and that even if we do, it shouldnt matter. Maybe we can use that type of game to be what propels us through the playoffs like the close game to New England two years ago? Ah well, im hopeful all the same. Go Giants!!!

by DaffesFlame on Dec 22, 2009 2:15 AM EST reply actions

Agree

bring on their best, we have to beat the best of what any team can bring, wheather its now or in the playoffs.

by BigBlueCrew_jfl on Dec 22, 2009 2:46 AM EST up reply actions

LOL!!!

I was watching the game with my brother and as they broke the huddle I saw a big white guy #86, I was like who the hell is that and what do you know the first play of the game is designed TE screen the the big BEAR, I luv it.

by Landeta on Dec 22, 2009 7:45 AM EST up reply actions

I was most impressed

with the Giants O-line. Total domination. Looks like Beatty will be a starter for years to come.

by potroast on Dec 22, 2009 7:13 AM EST via mobile reply actions

Manning is hot!!

Two games in a row, he is on FIRE right now, crazy numbers against the birds and his rating last night was elite QB’s stuff. Finally dumping off to the backs when nothing else is open, heavy dose of screen plays/audible when D is blitzing. This is the most complete Giants passing team I’ve ever seen! please KG don’t stop the air attack, its in our QB’s BLOOD, throw, throw, throw. Don’t need such a dominating D performance like last night to win games, so save some of that for the next two games. TC/BS we are going to need that same consistent CHESS like play calling on D to win out.

by NYCGMEN on Dec 22, 2009 8:23 AM EST reply actions

The run set that all up last night

They stuffed the ball down their throats early, forcing the secondary to honour the run.

by brisulph on Dec 22, 2009 8:41 AM EST up reply actions

That opening drive was a thing of beauty..

They ate up almost ten minutes…fantastic…I read CJ’s comment about the crowd..By half-time all you saw was mostly Big Blue fans..Skins fans packed it in early, as did their team…

they can’t do it huh…

GIANTS ARE LOW CLASS GARBAGE

The Giants certainly played well on Monday night. They also proved, beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are low class garbage. Why should anyone be surprised that such low class scum should come out of New York? The Giants don’t have any clue what sportsmanship even MEANS. It will be a pleasure to watch them wash out of the playoffs, if they even get in.

If you mean the Jacobs thing, none of us condoned it. In fact most of us said Jacobs should have thrown out of the game

Your anger is misplaced

You should be mad at your team, who should donate their game checks to charity after that performance.

I'm sick of these trolls

And this may seem random, but I really hate Cowboy fans

I went over to their sight, they had like 12 guys ripping Bye Dawk, and calling him a troll. That guy up there is a troll. Bye Dawk is not
