Goff to Start

According to Mike Garafolo of the Star-Ledger Johnathan Goff was working with the starters today in practice.  Here is the article.

It seems like what most of us here at BBV have been asking for is going to happen.  In the Article MG has a link to a previous article about Goff after the Giants drafted him in 08.  If he's smart enough to be a mechanical engineer I'm sure he could pick up the Giants D.

I hope he distinguishes himself

God knows, some one on the D needs to.

Never assume skill at bouncing a ball makes you smarter than the guy who built the court.

first of all...

I really hope he does start, i’m not sure if it’s 100% right now…

second…i hope that good or bad the giants don’t judge Goff on this one performance. I really hope we give him a few games here and see what he can do, if not the entire remainder of the season. If nothing else, we’ll find out what we need come draft time and free agency.

The key issue

is that we have underperformed at MLB this season.

So yes he is raw, but if he shows speed, quickness and ability it will be an improvement over the play we have had so far this season.

Yes he will be picked on in one on one matchups – but the Eagles did that to AP last year.

Goff needs to play in real games to get up to speed mentally – but if he has the physical tools then he will be better than Chase.
