Sherdian must go as defense coach of the GIANTS

Sherdian must go as Head Defense coaches for the GIants

Star-divide

I think the Giants need to firer Sheridan there defense coach and bring someone in

who knows a lot about defense someone like Carl Banks or maybe Lawence Taylor

i think any one of these guys would make a great defenses coaches they know what it

takes to win champions  Sherdian is just a good linebacker coaches that it . They need a

great defenses mind coach some one who as won the big game knows what it takes to

win the big one. A great mind like Carl Banks ,Lawence Taylor,Deon Sanders,or Woodson the ex steeler baltimore raven player these guysill make great coaches the giants need to look in to this.

we need a play caller...

someone who has been there and done it.

yes, bank, taylor, etc, have great football minds….so does sheridan. But it’s a different set of responsibilities when you got the head set on and your suddenly “the guy”.

That is funny to think about

Lawrence Taylor as a defensive coordinator…. Imagine the pregame speeches….

2nd the motion -BUT

I agree that Sheridan must go. I don’’t care if the man is Einstein – he does not appear tobe able to 1) translate his incredible knowledge to game situations and, 2) Giant defense does not seem to adjust to game being played in 2nd half (ala Parcell’s teams).
By the way, it seems to me that the linebackers were the worst part of last year’s defense . So the linebacker coach gets picked to run the whole defense this year – you get what you pay for! That being said, the secondary stinks – at least Henry Carr (see 70’s for the younger bloggers) could run down the receivers after being beaten in coverage. Seems no one can run down a dead squirrel. Yeah there has been injuries but they all look lost back there at this point. The secondary coach isn’t doing much better.

LT

I love LT I wore 56 in highschool and college, but c’mon now! Speed kills but in some cases it just turns you into a rambling idiot.
I’m not sold on Bill Sheridan, and agree we could do better. I’d rather see us go after a younger more dynamic defensive coordinator.
This should really shine a light on how lucky we were to have Spags, and what an outstanding job he did. He blitzed with strategy and purpose. It seems Sheridan just blitzes to blitz. I’ve noted a few games where the same people blitzed from the same formation several times with the only results being bad??? I certainly question Sheridans ability to make in game adjustments.

I agree 100%

Sheridan is not a good playcaller, period. We can’t keep him and except to get somewhere in the playoffs.

If John Fox gets another HC job or w/e and isn’t available for the Giants, the 2nd guy on their list should be Greg Blache. He will almost assuredly lose his job in LOLskins land if Shanahan gets the HC job there because everyone is saying that hes been real impressed with the improvement the Broncos made when they went to the 3-4 and he would like to use that scheme as well. And he has his own coach ready for that job.

Blache, though, has got the Redskins to play real good defense these last few years even though the offense has put them in terrible situations time and time again

Weis is an impossibility

Fox I agree but it’s a pipe dream. Guys rarely step back. Another good possibility from head coaches not long for this league is Dick Jauron out in Buffalo.

You play to win the game!

F that...

While Sheridan..yea, I agree…tho, if they "Do Work " in the playoffs….whatever on Sheridan.

I’ll keep Gilbride tho.

For all his faults…when they execute..they are unstoppable.

Also..contunuity is a big key.

Ask Jason Campbell and Alex Smith what a new OC will do for you every year. Every single fan will yell at their OC..probably ask for his head on a platter.

Leave Gilbride alone. Is he the best? No. Sometime do I want him to get a HC job somewhere? Yea…yet, would it really benefit the Giants?

In a perfect world........

we would get Fox back. Actually , as much as I love Fox, in a super-perfect world Spags would realize the error of his ways, and come back to us to be the-man-in waiting under Emperor Coughlin, as it should have been. As for Gilbride – sometimes I want to strangle him, and sometimes I want to hug him. Based on that I would say that unless there is some super candidate that we just couldn’t pass up (and no – I DON’T think Weis is that guy), then I would say that we are better off with the guy we won a super bowl with, and who are players are most comfortable.
