An adjusting Yankee fan...
Football was never my sport. I looked and saw that the Giants won and said, 'oh, that's good right?" I was a football rube who didn't understand how the dang game was played. However my uncles soon remedied this with football in 2006 and madden games for my Wii. I was hooked. Since my uncles are Giants fans I was lucky enough to become a giants fan at EXACTLY the right time. Sure 2006 ended up badly but then 2007 made my football dreams come true. After that win I became a huge religious fan. Jerseys, tickets, bobbleheads, I got into it all.
But then I had my first major issue. The last off season, the first one I payed attention to, I was going " GET ALBERT HAYNESWORTH! GET T.J.! GET ALL THE GOOD PLAYERS!!! NOW!" Let me explain myself. I have been a lifelong Yankees fan, since 1995 when I was 4. And all the Yankee off seasons that I have witnessed have had MY team get the big name free agents. But due to the NFL salary cap and a more conservative ownership, my football team was not doing the same! How can I acclimatize myself to this? I cannot deal with offseasons where MY team gets anything but the best....

Learn to love the draft, it’s like Christmas for Giants fans. Great NFL teams draft first, sign FAs second. Case in point, the Redskins are like the Yankees of the off-season but the Orioles of the regular season.

This is football....
the Giants do go out there and spend a bit, Lavaar Arrington got a big deal (and was cut the following season) and this season they spent big on Chris Canty and Rocky Bernard (…both may be cut this offseason too!).
I usually can’t stand that way of thought about Yankee fans…“we must get the best”. Kind of like the “go out and get Halladay thing” right now…really annoying.
The Giants did go and try to get Haynesworth tho. In hindsight I’m kinda wishing they didn’t sign Canty and Bernard and spent that money on Haynesworth. Could really use that big monster on the D-Line.

Is this guy serious?
“I cannot deal with offseasons where MY team gets anything but the best….”
This sounds like a parody, this guys isn’t serious right?
And if he is…than my god, I have a whole new level of respect for Yankee fans.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the Brewers do this offseason
My poker buddies think I will fail at fan conversion. Time will tell.

gotta love 'em
they’re the Paris Hilton of sports fans. Born on 3rd base, they think they hit a triple. But hey, it’s ok – they suffered for soooo long before this last championship.

makes me remember
I’m also somewhat disgusted with rich, smug Sox fans at the stadium who don’t stand up with 2 strikes/2 out, can’t do the wave, and are just generally apathetic. My last few trips to the Fens I’ve been disappointed in the caliber of my comrades

No you're not all like this.
Not in the slightest, I know you aren’t, I know Ed isn’t. I know Rob and Lou my roommates aren’t…but what other franchise has fans that actually post a sentence as ridiculous as the following:
“I cannot deal with offseasons where MY team gets anything but the best….”
That’s just…yuck.
