What are the chances...
what do you think the chances are of the Giants completing all five of these ideas...?
1) beating Atlanta this week,
2) winning in Denver (regardless the traveling saga),
3) winning 2 of 3 out of the three consecutive division games to begin the December season (Dal.,Phi.,Wsh),
4) beating favre at the end of the regular season,
5) and finally surviving the playoffs, making the superbowl as a result!?
100-85% (very good chance)
84- 70% (its a possibility)69-50% (hmm...not so much)
49-20% (it would be a miracle)
19-0% (it cant happen AT ALL)

that it can happen in my mind.
That said, I’ve always felt like we can still make a run for it, whether after our beating from NO, or the beating from the Eagles.
Its just a matter of executing, and no more injuries. We have complete control of our destiny. If run the table, we win the division. If we lose one game not to philly or dallas, we definitely can still win the division. Lost to dallas or philly, heck even both, we can still make it in the wild cards.
We cannot, however, lose to the falcons this sunday. This game will hopefully set the tone for the rest of the season, and then the playoffs onto our hoisting the Lombardi vs a pouting peyton.

On 3rd down, throw it to Smith.

IMHO, the most important thing the Giants could do would be to sweep their remaining division games. I don’t think that’s unrealistic at all, since the 2 tougher games will be at home. If Washington can choose a different NFCE team to beat, it could go a great way toward our hopes for the division. Of course, we will need to win against Carolina and 1 or 2 of 3 against very tough competition. Maybe Minnesota will remember that we let them into the playoffs last year and repay the favor.
You play to win the game!

I think that they come out strong and beat Atlanta easily, they are poised to have a big game and right the ship.
Denver game will be tough but I think that Denver is in trouble with no Orton.
Division games: I think that we will go 2 out of 3. I dont see us losing to the Redskins in DC ( I will be at that one cheering my face off) Giants have played really well in DC for the last 3 seasons. Starting with Tiki’s last regular season game and then to the goal line stand game in 07….
Vikings game: i dont think that it will matter to them so we shouold win easily…
Playoffs: I think we will make it how far we go….ehhh after last seasons debacle…
that's very optimistic for several reasons
1. I am the world’s biggest homer, but I don’t think many people see the Giants beating Atlanta EASILY.
2. Orton is trying to play THIS Sunday, so I wouldn’t count him out for Thursday.
3. However, I don’t think 3-0 in the div. is out fo reach at this point. 2-1 is probably more realistic though…
4. We DID totally put the Vikes in the playoffs last year, but I feel there is animosity and I don’t think the Vikes will lay down… there is bound to be SOMETHING at stake for them, whether it’s home-field, No. 1, or choosing their opponent. EVen with nothing at stake, half of teams play to win, and recent history bears out that strategy (Tampa Bay, ’08 Giants, ’09 Giants)
And as far as the playoffs, I expect that at 12-4 we will beat Dallas in the wild card, Minny in the Divisionals, New Orleans in the CC, and go on to beat the 18-0 Colts in the superbowl!

won't happen!
Nothing about this team, especially defense, shouts playoff. They will probably get there because of the soft schedule they had at the beginning of the season but I don’t see them going deep—defense? O-line? etc.
could've said that about the 2 teams in the NFC championship last year
WIN in the regular season. That’s it.
Doesn’t matter how.
