Ask The Falcoholic!
I come before you a broken fan.
The biggest story coming into next weekend's game might be where we find ourselves at this moment. Before the season started, I have to think you guys were favorites to win the NFC. We were supposed to be a chippy Wild Card contender through the entire year. Now we're likely battling it out for a wild card, and if the Falcons lose we're in big trouble.
So I'm coming over to answer any questions you have about the stupid Falcons, who are coming off their worst loss of the year against the Panthers. Do you want to know why Matt Ryan is slumping? How long Michael Turner will be out with an ankle injury? What kind of beer I drink to forget the fact that we just lost to a team that employs Jake Delhomme as its quarterback? Ask away!
Also, if you could please recommend this post so it stays up top for those asking questions, that would be great. Thanks.

Was Delhomme "back"
or is the Falcons D just that bad?
And yea, whats wrong with Turner?
Is John Abraham alive?
Is Matt Ryan really the sole reason that Roddy White turned into an NFL WR, or was it just a matter of time before he broke out (and got away from Vick…)
"It ain't over till its over"---
Little bit of both for the first
Delhomme has steadily improved through the season, but the Falcons also got zero pressure on him. When I say zero, I mean no sacks, no hurries, etc. They were woefully bad.
Turner’s got a high ankle sprain and it looks like he could miss anywhere from four-to-six weeks. We’re not liking that.
Abraham doesn’t appear to be alive. In his last interview with the media, he just said “brains….brains!” and lurched toward reporters. Without him doing something, we have a very poor pass rush indeed.
I think Roddy White would have broken out with another QB besides Vick. In 2007, Chris Redman gave him his first good season, so you can see what I mean there.

ahhh the Falcons screwed me good yesterday
they were my last game on the card….anyway
What’s your impression on Tye Hill since he has came to the Falcons. Living in Clemson, SC I have grown to follow Hill throughout the years and even bought his rookie jersey (A Rams home!!) anyway I wanted to know if he has a future starting for the Falcons or is he ending up a bust?
Same goes for Peria Jerry. Being an Ole Miss fan I really miss him up front and I watched the game where he injured his knee. Before that, however, I thought he was playing extremely well for a rookie. any thoughts on his future?
I like Hill
But he’s been inconsistent so far in limited playing time. Against the Redskins, he took a pick to the house, while this week he was benched in favor of Brent Grimes. If the Falcons had a competent pass rush and can force a quarterback to make some bad throws, I think he’d capitalize on that.
Jerry’s out for the season, but he looked promising before that. I think he’ll prove to a Rod Coleman-type of player, a penetrating pass rushing defensive end whose presence is sorely needed on the Falcons right about now.

Who underachieves more this week?
G-Men or Falcons?
Dont' know the extent of Turner's injury
but if he’s out, life just got a little easier for the Gmen.
I'm afraid to jinx myself

Gonzalez
With Turner out, are White and Gonzalez the big threats? With Ryan not playing so hot, what are their chances of having big games?
He's about to be fed at fat stack of $$$

Do you think Gonzalez has been bad for Ryan's progression?
I ask this because its pretty much all the media has been talking about, and usually when the national media talks it up, theres more to it, and its only really half truths
From a dedicated Falcon blogger, do you think Ryan has degressed with Gonzalez?

On 3rd down, throw it to Smith.
I really don't
If anything, having a reliable tight end to throw to should help a young quarterback along. I think this is more of an issue with teams getting more pressure on Ryan, who isn’t accustomed to it and isn’t dealing well with it.

backing up turner
Do u think snelling and norwood (if he plays) can be effective, obviously not as good, if turner does not play
Definitely
Norwood’s a situational kind of back, but he can hurt you with his speed. Snelling just runs people over, so he’ll be alright even if the line is struggling a little.

Why did you let Michael Boley go?
I understand there’s been misunderstandings with the coach and was benched towards the end last year.
However, Boley’s been, in the times we saw him play, by far and away our best linebacker. The falcon’s defense doesn’t scare anyone. Do you think your D would be better with him back in the lineup?

I think in some ways, yes
But in other ways, no.
I loved Boley during his time in Atlanta, and he constantly filled up the stat sheet. It became clear very quickly under Mike Smith that he wasn’t buying into the philosophy and that his strength on the Falcons—his ability to freelance and make things happen—was not valued to the extent it used to be. The Falcons of today like linebackers who can hit like a ton of bricks and do things fundamentally well, which wasn’t really Boley’s bread and butter.
Glad to hear he’s doing well, though. I always liked the guy.

not a question...just a comment...
this post was pretty funny…I feel your pain as we’re in the same boat, but it’s nice to see that opposing fans can sit down and talk about the upcoming game…as opposed to yelling, screaming, and cursing each other out.
Good luck…just not against us.

actually
since we may end up in the long run vying for the same spot, I gotta go with good luck next season
You play to win the game!
How do you feel about Michael Vick?
and are you as happy as we are to see that he’s become nothing more than an expensive decoy in Philly?

Sorry, missed this question at first
I wish Vick well, but I would vehemently oppose him ever being on the Falcons again. His mistakes cost the Falcons dearly. Have to admit some part of me feels pretty good about his lack of production.
