ELI VS PEYTON BATTLE OF UNDEFEATED TO BE DECIDED IN SUPERBOWL MATCH
I JUST HAD A CRAZY "WHAT IF"..... I would love to see the Manning brothers head to head in the Superbowl. I can't imagine a better match up with both teams undefeated. I know the odds of this must be extremely high, but what the heck. There is so much talent on this team and everyone is on the same page and in complete support of the team mission. Watching ELI and Peyton playing these past few weeks is really making wonder if this is not so out of reach. This would put the last undefeated Superbowl defeat (New England) to shame.

I would love to see a Manning Bowl
but let’s not get carried away with the undefeated season talk. In NFL history only two teams have made it to the SB with an undefeated record – the chance of it happening twice in a year is less likely than the chance of John Clayton bagging Meghan Fox.
If I had to rank my Super Bowl matchup preferences, it would go:
1) Giants vs. Jets (nothing better than freezing out the rest of the country)
2) Giants vs. Colts (Manning vs. Manning plus rematch of the Greatest Game Ever Played)
3) Giants vs. Patriots (rematch of the real greatest game that was ever played)
4) Giants vs. Ravens (rematch of the worst game ever played, chance for revenge, plus I love Joe Flacco)
5) Giants vs. Steelers (Eli vs. Big Ben to determine 2004 Draft Class bragging rights, plus just a matchup between two classic franchises)
"[The Giants] beat us down. We were beat by a grown-man team, a team we want to be like one day. They came in here and took it to us. Out-manned us, out-gunned us. ... It wasn't even close." - Raheem Morris, 9/27/09

THose would all be great...
tho I’d place you’re #1 of the Jets vs. the Giants as my worse SB matchup. I’d probably jump off a building and slit my throat on the way down cuz of all the Jets hype …thus not being able to watch the SB….
kidding, Id like to see an all NY SB, and proceed to beat the hell out of em.
I really don’t care who they play, I’d just like to go back.
I can just feel that an all Manning SB is gonna happen at some point tho (while I doubt its a matchup of undefeateds….). These 2 are just too damn good.

All of those would be pretty sweet
But a Manning Bowl would be my most desirable.
Especially if Eli wins, because than he has superbowl win bragging rights.
I’d order it
Giants vs. Colts
Giants vs. Jets (although I’d hate having jets fans thinking for two weeks they might actually beat the giants)
Giants vs Ravens
Giants vs Steelers
Giants vs Chargers (The traded qbs battle each other. I can’t wait until we wipe the floor with san diego this year)
Giants vs Patriots

I considered the Chargers
but I just really hate them for some reason. Screw them, I don’t even want Rivers to make a Super Bowl.

because it would be an easy win?

Because if the Broncos make the Super Bowl
it means New England got nuked midseason, and I’ll never have to hear Tom Brady’s name again.

rematch of the 1986 bowl...
probably 7th on your list
Not many other “contenders” in the AFC anyway.

ah, good point
I was too young to remember that one. Plus, unless the Broncos switch back to their orange unis, I don’t really consider it a true rematch. Crazy that the Giants and Colts have more in common with their 1956 uniforms than the Broncos and Giants do with their 1986 uniforms.

me too...
I wasn’t even a year old yet when the Gints beat the hell out of Elway….
Seems I was groomed to watch Giants D’s beat up HOF QB’s in the Bowl (and probably why they didn’t beat the hell out of Dilfer…)

I taped that superbowl at age 10...
and watched it over and over again until the VHS dragged to the point of unwatchability …
Good thing XLII came out as part of a 5-disc DVD set

The odds would be extremely low
you mean.
Strikeouts are boring- Besides that, they're fascist. Throw some ground balls - it's more democratic.

On the exact opposite end of the spectrum
would be a Cowboys-Eagles NFC Championship, with the winner taking on the Patriots. Vomit.

i think eli ia still peaking
while big brother is majestically putting up a fight against his age. eli hands down has more super bowls coming his way. i dont see peyton playing in any more super bowls. dont get me wrong i love peyton manning. if the giants ever lose in the playoffs my focus would shift to the colts. there is actually nothing i would love more then to see peyton meet tom brady midfield and exchange handshakes after the colts clobber the pattie wagons 43-7 in the sb. tom usually comes up with the longer stick when they play. plus then we could tell patriots fans that the manning family has branded your qb.

Peyton isn't really old
He’s 34, which isn’t young, but he’s definitely still in his prime.

yea i agree but eli still has to peak
peyton has already reached the top of the mountain. wont be long before he starts to go down the other side.

Brett is proving that you can do this at 40
Plus Peyton is smarter and does not take half the stupid chances that Brett does. As long as Big Bro has a good line in front of him and someone to catch the magic bean, he’ll be out there. Peyton is far from done and far from sliding down the mountain.

Eli Vs Ben... The Plax Bowl
Two Classic blue collar teams. I wouldnt know who to root for. It will probably be the highest viewing Super Bowl.. Where is it being held this year?

Worst Ever...
Eagles-Lions. It would be such an easy win for Philly, no-one at BBV would ever hear the end of “the only team to put up 60 in the SuperBowl”. That would put any Jets matchup into 2nd worst.
It would save the Giants Defence a lot of time if QBs just stayed down!

Eagles cant play the Lions they are both in the NFC...
Fail.

Also...
All the Eagles fans out there can tell you the more chance there is of us blowing out a team the less chance there is of us actually winning the game.

yea...
If you’ve noticed about what the Eagles do in SB’s when they actually get there…the Lions would probably win.

I went to the first Peyton V Eli game...
Never felt a game with that much emotion before. I’ve been to a lot of playoff games, I’ve been to a lot of inter-division games, but opening day 2006 Eli v Peyton was easily the most intense game I ever witnessed in Giants Stadium. I could only imagine what the Super Bowl atmosphere would be…
Epic.

The bowl is a fair probability
… since both teams are good. However I’ve done some calculations and the odds of both teams going to the Superbowl undefeated is one in 47.3 gajillion to the bazillionth power, so that was sort of a dumb consideration that wouldn’t even add much to the coolness of the matchup.

Really?
You think two undefeated teams playing each other wouldn’t be that cool?
Interesting…..

I'm an arithmetician
and all’s I’m sayin’ is, fair probability and very cool to see a P.M. vs. E.M. Superbowl, but the tiny sliver of likelihood … no, the impossible likelihood that both teams would be undefeated does not warrant the generation of excitement. It’s like saying, wouldn’t it be cool if the Lions and Raiders met in the Superbowl this year, and the Lions won 412-3? Sure. Would it be cool if Eli threw for 18 touchdowns this Sunday, and revealed a cure for cancer after the game? Sure. But I’m not getting excited about the prospects for either.

it’s actually my entire head. I’m a complete A-hole, and the only reason it rarely shows here is b/c we’re all Giants fans! I actually did just laugh out loud, but I hate it when people write “LOL”.
